What's up, DTY'ers!? So, you probably heard the news by now; in case you didn't, your boy, DTY, is now...officially...a member of the Kelowna Knights.

(Puts on a Kelowna Knights cap)

That's right, the smoothest skating, deceptive powerhouse, ladies' night organizer, is headed north and across the border to begin his professional hockey career. Obviously, I want to thank the Knights for claiming me off the waiver wire. They were one of the first teams I heard from yesterday and given my interactions with the front office, it felt like the right fit for me.

As an Edmonton fan, playing in that region is a Godsend. I know the hockey fans in that region and they breath, eat, and sleep the sport. I cannot wait to get to the arena and experience my first puck drop with the green and gold nation lining the building.

And for all you DTY'ers out there, I need you to rep the Knights and the city of Kelowna hard for me. Here's some facts you probably don't know about the city. Kelowna has mountains, rivers, forests, phenomenal landscape...it's got it all outdoors. The city remains home to the indigenous Syilx people. And Kelowna is resilient. It's a city that has survived wildfires, crane catastrophes, and sonic booms. Kelowna was also he filming location of the zombie thriller, Fido. Yeah, I know you've seen it.

I also know the Knights are sitting in 9th place among the standings with 35 points right now. We're about to elevate that. DTY is going to put that green sweater on, step onto the ice, and get the boys into the top six before the end of the regular season. And yo, Thunder Bay better hope we don't see them again this year. I heard that the fish have had a little edge on Kelwona of the last few, but that's about to change. We're gonna put the Walleye into the damn fryer...smother then with tartar sauce...down the gullet...through the large intestine...and out the...well, you know (laughs).
