Saku Perhonen - The First

Saku was in the Draft Season 6 and the Vancouver Nightmare (today Tampa) selected him with the 3rd OVA. Saku Perhonen is a two time All Star he made it in Season 7 and 9. He also was nominated for the Jeff Dar Trophy in Season 10. He started his career in Vancouver and during the 2nd season was traded to the Minnesota Chiefs. Later he was also part of the Texas Renegades and Calgary Dragons Organisations.

The Career Stats for Saku

Saku Perhonen did play in 307 Games with 100 Goals and 136 Assists. His 236 Points brings him to 0.77 Points per Game. He was a very goonish player with his 755 Hits. 2.46 Hits per Game is impressive. He had in Season 10 his best performance as he brought up 27 Goals, 28 Assists and also 214 Hits. That was the understandable reason to be nominated for the Dar Trophy.

Finnish again - Tuomas Vitikka

Tuomas was drafted by the West Kendall Platoon also with the 3rd OVA. He did play his first season with West Kendall and then was on the Hamilton Steelhawks until his short career ended in Season 16.

Short Career - manageable stats

Tuomas had 199 Games in the SHL and he brought up just 51 points. he was in his career mostly a deep piece and did not have so much ice time. 0.26 Points per game but he was good in hitting with his 0.80 Hits per game. His best season was the first with Hamilton as he brought up 8 Goals and 12 Assists but also 73 Hits.

The first non finnish Player for HFFO

Saoul Commeunebotte came up in the draft for Season 17. The Minnesota Chiefs selected him with the 7th OVA. He did stay 2 seasons with Minnesota and then moved for his final season to Manhattan. Again a very short career because of many hard injuries.

Shorter Career - more manageable stats

Saoul had 150 Games with 48 Points. his 0.32 Points per game wasn’t top but his hits stat is top. 2.2 Hits per game made him an important team player. He started as 2nd liner but then it was going down with his ice time.

Mr. James from Adkins

James Adkins was the next in the pipeline and he entered the SHL in Season 20. He was drafted with the 37th OVA by the Toronto North Stars. Adkins only had a SMJHL Career. He never made the SHL for several reasons. He loved to travel and mostly came back with an injury. The SHL team made it clear that this can't be a pro career as a hockey player. He did step away from hockey.

SMJHL Career Stats

James had 80 SMJHL Games and 65 Points. 0.81 Points per game did show the SHL a nice potential. but he never made the SHL.

Pomery …. Brandon … is his name

Brandon Pomery came in the SHL as 13th OVA in the Season 22 Rookie Draft by the Seattle Riot. After 2 Seasons in Seattle he moved to Buffalo Stampede but during the season a 2nd and last trade for Pomery brought him to New England. He won with the New England Wolfpack two cups in season 30 & 31. After Season 33 he ended his career as Wolfpack.

Long Career - more Stats

Brandon did play in 554 SHL Games and had 181 Points. His two way play as Defender was one of the key factors for the win of the Cup in Season 30 and 31. His 1.10 Hits & 0.78 Shot Blocks per Game shows us his team play performance. 0.33 Points per Game as a two way Defender is also a good number in the line with Hits and Shot Blocks.

Perhonen is back but it is Vesa

Vesa was drafted in Season 34 by the New England Wolfpack with the 14th OVA. But he never made the SHL. He had 2 seasons in the SMJHL as he won in Season 33 as SMJHL Rookie with the Montreal Impact the Four Star Cup.

Vesa his SMJHL Career Stats

Vesa made 100 SMJHL Games and had 57 Points during this time for Montreal Impact. But in 31 Playoff Games he brought up 19 Points. That makes in the regular season 0.57 Points per Game and in the playoffs 0.61 Points per game.

Tabarnak Fleur-De-Lys-lapoutine the Intermezzo

Tabarnak was drafted in Season 36 by the Toronto North Stars with the 56th OVA. He did stay with TOR but did only play 12 seconds over 100 Games. That makes 0,12 seconds per game. It must be his nose on ice to count on that. After Season 38 he ended his career.

Tabarnak his Career stats

What is important to mention here?. 100 Games, 0 Goals, 0 Assists, 0 Points +1 for plus minus, 0 Shots, 0 Shot blocks, 2 penalty minutes and 2 Hits. Also like before mentioned 12 seconds. A very rough and short career for Tabarnak Fleur-De-Lys-lapoutine.

Asti-Tabarnak Fleur-De-Lys-lapoutine the 2nd gen player of this family

Asti-Tabarnak arrived in the SHL during the Rookie Draft for Season 40 and was drafted by the Minnesota Chiefs with the 21st OVA Pick. He never made the SHL but had 3 Seasons in the SMJHL for the Halifax Raiders.

Asti his SMJHL Career

Asti played 150 SMJHL Games and had 72 Points.

Big Fudge - 5 Season SMJHL Career

Big Fudge was drafted by the Chicago Syndicate in Season 46 with the 76th OVA. He spent 5 seasons in the SMJHL for the Kelowna Knights.

Fudge SMJHL Career Stats

Big played in 250 Games and brought up 126 Points. 0.50 Points per game as a defender is a good number. 0.89 Hits per Game and 1.12 Shot Blocks per Game do show us a nice two way play.

Theo Golury 4th SMJHL Career in a row

Theo was drafted in season 52 by the Winnipeg Jets at 30th OVA. He did play 6 Seasons for the Kelowna Knights until he ended his career after Season 55.

Golury and the SMJHL Career Stats

Theo racked up 235 Games and 117 Points but also 216 Hits and 155 Shot Blocks. That is good numbers as a two way player with a deeper role.

Rand al'Thor welcome to the SHL Magicians

Rand arrived in Season 63 and was drafted by the San Francisco Pride with the 7th OVA. Before he started his SHL Career he won three times in a row the Four Star Cup. In the seasons 62, 63 and 64. In Season 65 Rand also was strong to be named the third time in a row as SMJHL Allstar (Seasons 63, 64 and 64). During that time he moved to the Edmonton Blizzard and his final season was for the Montreal Patriotes. As Alltime leader in points of all defender in the SMJHL he will never be forgotten (FHM).

Rand his Career Stats

Rand played in 330 SHL Games and had 179 Points. As Two Way Defender his 0.54 points per game were legit but also his defensive stats. 1.13 Hits per game and 0.68 Shot Blocks per game brought him also in Season 66 in the SHL Rookie All Star Team. A season later he won the Turd Ferguson Trophy as player with the most penalty minutes (60).

Theodore Svatos - Number 11 please

Svatos got drafted by the Edmonton Blizzard with the 69th OVA (Head GM) and spent 4 seasons with the Yukon Malamutes. After that he did play from Season 74 to 76 for the Edmonton Blizzard three SHL Seasons.

Svatos short SHL career but nice stats

Theodore played 198 Games and had 192 Points. 0.97 points per game and also 1.64 Hits per game will call him a nice two way player for the Blizzard. His best Season was his last season. He brought up 29 Goals and 61 Assists in 66 Games.

Olafur Atlason the current one

Olafur Atlason was drafted by the Edmonton Blizzard with the 69th OVA in the Season 77 SHL Rookie Draft. He currently plays in the SHL for the Blizzard.

Olafur his Career Stats so far

Atlason had so far 183 Games for Edmonton in 2 seasons and the actual one. In that time he brought up 186 Points. So he is at 1.02 Point per Game so far. He also racks up 1.47 Hits per game and 0.69 Shot Blocks per game.

It was nice to see the Journey of HFFO over his time in the SHL and the SMJHL with his creations. Some ups and downs like anyone. Some players will be forgotten, some never.

This guy needs to recreate more, jeez

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”
