Registered Senior Member Sam Slade Impressed with S7 NWJHL Draft Class In what started out to be a very top heavy draft, specifically the 1st round selections, it now seems, atleast to Sam Slade a prospective 1st rounder, that the round following the 1st are filling out nicely as well. "I'm blown away by some of these young guns coming in and showing there stuff, it's simply amazing to see the talent we have in this year draft growing and growing. This year could be one of the best NWJHL Draft Classes in years, there are so many active prospects trying to carve there name into the scouts minds, it's simply amazing. In the last week i have been blown away by atleast a half dozen rookies who are, in my opinion, going to get picked in the 2nd round because they are showing they are committed to the league and know what it takes to succeed in this league. I'm really excited, because i will probably be playing with a couple of them, it makes me think of the possibilities of bringing home the 4 Star Cup, like Seattle did this year." Though Sam didn't want to name who he was impressed with the most, he was quick to point out that activity prior to the draft does nothing but help a prospective rookie come draft time. We also asked Sam if he, like several of the other top prospects, would pick which team he preferred to play on and his only response was: "I would be happy to play on ANY NWJHL team. My favorite team to play on is the one that picks me. Period." Rumor has it Sam Slade has recently taken some Play by Play announcing courses in the off-season, as it seems he is thinking about that career path once his hockey day are done. Now all he needs to do it get some practise....

Should be an exciting draft question is how many excited actives stay that way its always the problem with the NWJHL is the LONG off season because of recruiting many of the first to sign up dont stay active because there is nothing to do but sit an wait if they stay active though it will be a great draft and lots of actual scouting

Ya, half way there, they like 70 usually before they start.
Just keep the activity going, show consistency, it is a long season. :ahh!:
