Going back to visit my true home Darian Scherbluk
#1

Reports have came in telling us that Darian has headed back to his home country Ukraine as he anxiously awaits the NWJHL draft. Darian spoke with the media just a few hours before his plane left. Here is what he had to say:

“With the time I have off right now just waiting for the draft I just wanted to go back to my home country and spend some time with my family I usually do not see often since I have moved to Canada. I would also like to get in some training time with some of my former hockey coaches to keep me in shape and ready for training camp which will probably start soon after the draft.”

These coaches Darian is planning training with are the top hockey coaches in all of Ukraine which had coached him in his early teen years. When Darian was asked how do you feel with reuniting with your old coaches? Here what he had to say:

“It will be great to train with my old coaches again. They are the real reason why I am even going into this draft. When I was a teenager was actually the first time I really looked at the possibility of one day playing in the SHL. Once that happened I really began to focus on improving every single one of my hockey skills from passing and skating to learning effective strategies on the penalty kill and power play. Those coaches were there by my side during that whole time. They gave me advice and taught me life lessons through hockey like discipline, showing respect for others, being thankful for what you have and by showing me that hard work ill always pays off. They also helped me get through the tough time when my father passed away. In away my coaches from Ukraine are like family to me.”
Darian was then asked if he would be d having any press conferences in Ukraine and here is what he had to say:

“During my time in Ukraine I will not be hold any interview or answer any questions from the media. I am here to train and prepare for the draft and am here to see my family. I am not here to be followed by the media.”

Darian has kindly requested to have no media attention with him in Ukraine as he says he needs a break from all the hype. Darian has stated that he will be gone for two weeks and when he returns he plans to get right back in the swing of things. For now we wish Darian Scherbluk a safe and enjoyable trip.

Is this you taking a leave of absence? Tongue

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”
