Maleek Junior is a rookie defender currently playing his first season in the SMJHL. While he was not drafted to any team, he was signed via contract much like a free agent would be to the Montreal Impact. The team had one hell of a draft and has a very good depth filled management system, these were the main reasons Maleek joined the team. Since starting the season, Maleek has adjusted properly, and been put on the first pairing for both even strength play and the powerplay. While most thought he would not succeed, he indeed has done the total opposite of most critics expectations. Junior commented on his play and how happy he is to be a part of the team.

"It feels great to actually be a huge part of the team, not just sitting on the bench and being called on the odd time. Six games in and we're finally starting to pick up our game. We've hit the .500 mark and we're going to continue shooting for the stars. I haven't regretted my decision and I don't think I will. Championship or not, I'm getting to display my talents on the team and it feels exceptional. I know my family had doubts with me travelling all the way from London to Montreal where people speak a totally different language, but I adapted quick and had a lot of help from day one with doing things properly out here. I know our team is going to work their asses off in order to get the job done, it'll obviously take time as a lot of us are rookies trying to find chemistry, but it'll happen"

It surely would be one fantastic season for Junior and the Impact if they could make the playoffs and even more so if they win it all. Only time can really be the tell factor here and with so many games left, nothing is certain. If the players continue to practice and the coaches and staff maintain their skills and push hard, there may be some reward around the corner.</div>
