After missing the Season 14 Trade Deadline by literally minutes, Jamie Seguin went on as a sleeper pick in the Season 15 SMJHL Entry Draft. Chosen as a very late pick by the Montreal Impact, Seguin didn't have high expections and showed little signs of the star inside that would be shown soon enough. He was dealt to Vancouver at the SMJHL Trade Deadline for inactive Mike Hawk and a 3rd round pick, looking back at it, it was one of the best moves Jordan Hall ever made. The Whalers were reigning champs and repeated. Seguin didn't play outstanding the regular season but came to life during the playoffs, andscored the Cup Winning goal against the Detroit Falcons in a six game series. With that, Jamie Seguin became a Vancouver hero and raised his draft stock. He got drafted by the Calgary Dragons in the second round before being traded to the North Stars for bust Logan Court.
Fast forward, Jamie is having a bad offensive season in Vancouver but a fantastic defensive one and is the most underrated prospect right now. He is used to it by now. |
