Karlensons can't stop a goal by Myers

It was a West versus East match-up. Both teams desperate for a win in order to have a chance at their respective division titles. It was also a battle of a young up-and-coming goalie versus a star goalie that is the back bone of his teams defense. Meghan Schneider took a penalty that put the Whalers on the first PP of the game. The Whalers capitalized on the PP on a goal by Shinji Kudryashov that was assisted by Sterling Knight and Hunter Wong. The Impact tied it up before the 1st period was over on a goal by Jeffrey Baker.

The score didn't remain tied for long as the Whalers got out to a two goal lead on goals by Shinji Kudryashov and Drew Myers. The Impact would go the rest of the game without being able to score a goal. Hunter Wong shut the door as the Whalers won 3-1.

RESULT:
Whalers 3
:impact: 1

3 Stars:
1 - Shinji Kudryashov (VAN)
2 - Hunter Wong (VAN)
3 - Jeffrey Baker (MTL)

:force: vs Knights

Ales Smirnov scored the Game Winning Goal

Two Western Division teams trying to make it to the top of the league. And as usual with the Knights, the game was high scoring. The 1st period was a flurry of goals as the Force took an early 2-0 lead on goals from Brandon Pomery and Alex Kovalchuk. Then the Knights struck back to tie it up on goals from Keith Trubachev and Xander Mole. Justin Cunningham scored his first goal of the season to give the Force a 3-2 lead but then the Knights tied it up again thanks to Karol Kuzmin.

The 2nd period was completely devoid of goals as both teams tried to break the stalemate. The Knights played nearly half of a period shorthanded as they took five penalties in the 2nd. In the 3rd period Ales Smirnov broke the tie for the Knights and then Ryan McDonagh scored on the PP to put the Knights up 5-3 to end the game.

RESULT:
Knights 5
:force: 3

3 Stars:
1 - Ryan McDonagh (KEL)
2 - Ales Smirnov (KEL)
3 - Keith Trubachev (KEL)

Falcons vs Scarecrows

Thomas Anderson scores a big goal

A slug fest between the top two teams in the East. And the game lived up to it's hype when the first period ended in a 2-2 tie. The Crows scored the first two goals on goals by Derek Underscore and Barb Lahey. The Falcons struck back to tie it up thanks to Alex Fischer and Chico Four-Byrde. The Crows being the most undisciplined team in the league did not help them in the 2nd period as the Falcons scored two PP goals courtesy of Alexandre Sauvé and Clay Parker which got Noah Jackson pulled. The Crows made sure to end the 2nd period down only one goal though on a goal from Barb Lahey.

One period left to go. Crows down by one and they strike on the PP after Pentecost set up Steve Linkos for the tying goal 30 seconds into the period. The comeback wasn't meant to be though as Thomas Anderson scored the final goal of the game to give the Falcons a 5-4 lead and win.

RESULT:
Falcons 5
Scarecrows 4

3 Stars:
1 - Barb Lahey (STL)
2 - Clay Parker (DET)
3 - Chico Four-Byrde (DET)
