Game 62: Vancouver Whalers vs Kelowna Knights

The division rivals meet in a game that brought everything you would expect from a rivalry gams. Starting with a Dolph Ziggler penalty only 42 seconds into the game and allowing Vancouver to take advantage of their early game chance, scoring their first goal not even 3 minutes into the period. The Knights would tighten their game for at least the second period where Ziggler makes up for his mistake and evens it up with a goal of his ow with a nice tic tac toe play. Vancouver would score once more and continue into the third with their 1 goal lead.

The third period consisted of Vancouver expertly moving the puck all around the ice and limiting the Knights chances. Vancouver would score again to seal this one for good on a Moosejaw Boudreau penalty. This game ended with a total of 8 penalties. Five of which came from Vancouver and missed opportunities for the Knights.

3 Stars
1 - Sterling Knight (VAN)
2 - Hunter Wong (VAN)
3 - Dolph Ziggler (KEL)

Final score: Vancouver Whalers-3 Kelowna Knights-1

Game 63: Detroit Falcons vs Montreal Impact

This game had the making of a blowout as the top ranked Detroit Falcons came to visit the Montreal Impact... And then the game started. The game started sloppy as both teams took opening period penalties but the impact were the ones who took advantage. There would then be 8 more penalties in this game but both goalies had eaten their Wheaties this morning and smothered any chances of that puck crossing the line. The rookie Karlsensons put up his first career shutout on 24 shots and Pressen saved 31 and finishing with a 97 save percentage.

3 Stars
1 - Valdemorts Karlensons (MTL)
2 - Rob Pressen (DET)
3 - Jack Benn (MTL)

Final score- Detroit Falcons:0 Montreal Impact:1

Game 64: Regina Force vs Vancouver Whalers

This game was jam packed with action. The first period goals came early on an Andrews Baker-Richards Penalty and Vancouver took advantage but the Force responded with a Mclovin goal just 3 minutes later. Vancouver took the lead into the second with a Smulans goal. It would be the last offense Vancouver could muster however as Mclovin would net his second goal of the game in the second and a pair of David Webb goals would make the ultimate decision.

3 Stars

1 - McLovin (RGF)
2 - David Webb (RGF)
3 - Oliver Metcalf (RGF)

Final score: Regina Force-4 Vancouver Whalers-2

Game 65: Montreal Impact vs St. Louis Scarecrows

The first peroid was chippy and sloppy to say the least. The teams combined for 7 penalties including a game misconduct by rookie first round pick Rembrandt Q. Einstein for instigating a fight. Even with all the power play chances all 4 goals were scored even strength. Two a piece. Their offenses would muster 1 goal each in the second before the defense took over the game and would take it to overtime. The Impact could only hold on for so long and narrowly missed an opportunity to take it to a shootout with a Reid goal with 30 seconds left of overtime.

3 Stars
1 - Axel Reid (STL)
2 - Vsevolod Nikitin (STL)
3 - Sage Tanner (MTL)

Final Score: Montreal Impact-3 St. Louis Scarecrows-4

Game 66: Detroit Falcons vs Kelowna Knights

These two teams held nothing back in what many people are calling a preview of the playoff finals. Just 27 seconds into the game Detroit took the opening Faceoff into the offensive zone and scoring. On the following Faceoff Kelowna does the exact same thing 6 seconds later. The two team would trade goals again later that period. Detroit would spend a lot of time in the for the second with 3 penalties but Kelowna would only capitalize on one while Detroit scored an early period goal. The teams would again trade goals and take it to OT where Detroit would ultimately decide the game.

3 Stars
1 - Dolph Ziggler (KEL)
2 - Big Manius (DET)
3 - Alexandre Sauvé (DET)

Final score: Detroit Falcons:5 Kelowna Knights: 4

Game 67: Vancouver Whalers vs Regina Force

The game started off with some penalties but the offenses started rolling with 7 minutes left in the period. Vancouver started the scoring with 2 quick goals and Regina answered with its own just before the period ended to keep this game manageable. The teams would trade a pair of goals before heading into the third, Vancouver still with a one goal lead. Pomery would tie it for the Force but that would be their last offensive effort as The Whalers put up two more and took the win.

3 Stars
1 - Sterling Knight (VAN)
2 - Jay Robinson (VAN)
3 - Truck Stoker (VAN)

Final score: Vancouver Whalers-5 Regina Force-3

Game 68: Montreal Impact vs St. Louis Scarecrows

It would be all St. Louis to start this one. An early first period goal would give them momentum and a later Power Play goal would further their lead into the second. The game slowed down and the only offense that could be found was one goal by the Impact which swung the momentum and the game was noticeably different. The Impact came in fast on their skates and their eye on the net. They would tie in the first 5 minutes of the third and kept rolling. They would decide the game on a Power play goal with almost 2 minutes left. They held on to the lead to again beat one of the top ranked teams.

3 Stars
1 - Chernika Banananov (STL)
2 - Jorma Ruutu (MTL)
3 - Henrik Englund (MTL)

Final score: Montreal Impact-3 St. Louis Scarecrows-4
