Montreal Impact vs Vancouver Whalers

This game started quickly with Jack Benn (MTL) taking a hooking penalty 2 minutes into the 1st period. Vancouver's Chance Winston gets his 5th of the year on the ensuing power play to open the scoring. One more penalty for each team in the first further tested the special teams, but the penalty killers came out on top both times.

The Impact came out with a vengeance in the second responding to a Vancouver trip with a roughing penalty, causing coincidental minors, 3 minutes in. The Impact kept up the fast pace scoring two goals in 18 seconds, 5:38 into the period.

The Impact take another stupid penalty 5 minutes into the third causing another power play goal for the Whalers, and Shinji Kudryashov's 12th of the season. Special teams are playing a big role in this game as we head to overtime!

Quickly in overtime the Whalers star Sterling Knight pots his 20th of the year for the big comeback win at home!

3 Stars:

1 - Sterling Knight (VAN)
2 - Shinji Kudryashov (VAN)
3 - Cameron Gantz (MTL)

Final (OT):
:impact: 2 - Whalers 3

Detroit Falcons vs Kelowna Knights

Four penalties in the 1st period (2 each) tested both teams power plays to no avail. We go into the second period scoreless with the Knights doubling Detroit's shot totals in the period. Rob Pressen is really standing on his head so far.

Despite being outshot again, Detroit manages to put in 5 goals compared to Kelowna's measly one. Kelowna's Mark Harter gets pulled after letting in his 4th goal of the game. Big showings this period from Detroit's Chico Four-Byrde and Zach Morgan with 2 goals each, as well as 3 assists for Tucker O'Callahan.

A much quieter third with only 1 goal being scored by Tucker O'Callahan to cap of a huge 4 point night.

3 Stars:

1 - Tucker O'Callahan (DET)
2 - Zach Morgan (DET)
3 - Rob Pressen (DET)

Final:
Falcons 6 - Knights 1

St. Louis Scarecrows vs Regina Force

It is a slow first period to start this game with only 7 shots between both teams and no penalties. Caesar Rockefeller gets his 3rd of the year at 17:53 to kick of the scoring and hopefully inject some life into this game.

A much more active second period with both teams more than doubling their shot totals from the first. Pavel Bursyuk gives St. Louis a 2 goal lead at 6:15, but the Force respond 10 seconds later with a goal of their own to cut the lead to 1! St. Louis will add a tally on the power play a couple minutes later, but give up a poorly timed goal with only 7 seconds remaining in the frame. We enter the third 3-2 St. Louis.

The Force come out in full....force in the third period scoring two goals and taking the lead before the 10 minute marker. A hooking penalty by McLovin gives St. Louis's hot power play a chance to even up the score, and they make no mistake doing so! We are headed to overtime.

Both goalies stand tall for their teams in overtime and we are headed to a shootout! Lassi Pylsy has the last laugh for St. Louis stopping 2/3 shots and securing the Scarecrows a much needed win on the road.

3 stars:

1 - Edge Ochocinco (RGF)
2 - David Webb (RGF)
3 - Patrik Å atan (STL)

Final (SO):
Scarecrows 5 - :force: 4
