@ </div></b> Prince George Firebirds came out very strong in the first period, out shooting the Knights 10-8 and to the pleasure of the home crowd were able to get themselves a lead. 11:20 into the first period rookie Leon Webb, bloodline of the great Kain, lit the lamp on assists from Rick Chleb and Sum Ting Wong. This marked Webb's second goal of the season. 1-0 Firebirds. A couple minutes later Fire Birds found themselves on the boards again to take a 2-0 lead from a nice pass from defensemen Jacques Ford to Sum Ting Wong. Firebirds second line was making a huge impact early in this game. Less than 20 seconds later the Knight's Dr. Timeturner Wooves scored to make it a 2-1 game going into intermission. Firebirds were 0/3 on the power play but got it done in 5 on 5 play. The second period was littered with penalties from both teams. It wasn't until just after mid way into the period that a team got on the board. Shea Robinson sent a beauty of a pass to Mirko Antonio Scuderi who found Hunter Bob open, Bob cashed it in immediately and the Firebirds took a 3-1 lead in the second on the power play. A great start for Kyle Prince who was playing in his first SMJHL game this season, the guys in front of him were getting the job done in the first two period. The third period showed some desperation from the Knights who were down two goals. Knights outshot the Firebirds 11 to 7 to even up the game final shot counts at 24 a piece. Unfortunately it didn't amount to much success as Kyle Prince stood on his head to earn the victory for the Firebirds. Early in the third the Firebirds made it 4-1 as Mirko Antonio Scuderi scored his fourth of the season. Kyle Prince with a strong debut in Season 24 leads his team victory tonight in front of their home fans. @ </div> An Eastern Conference rivalry gets underway in St. Louis. The first score comes from Mike Hawk at 9:52 in the first period, Hawk was able to cash in on a slikc Klaus Wagner pass to get Montreal the early 1-0 lead. Less than four minutes later however the Scarecrows had different ideas. Rookie William Hendrickson scores his first goal of the season on assists from Stacker Pentecost and Curtis Crawford. With less than 5 minutes remaining in the first the Crows go on the powerplay and capitalize. Veteran forward Mitchell Dambach leads the power play unit and finds John Matthews open on the side of the net and he pots it in. 2-1 Scarecrow lead. Montreal has an answer though with only 90 seconds remaining in the first rookie defensemen Alexander Wolff finds his first of the season to tie the game 2-2, assists from Devon Mack and Klaus Wagner. Montreal's penalties were a story in the first and they look to play a safer game going into the second in a 2-2 tight one. Johnny Cahill takes an early penalty and the Impact look to take the lead on the power play but nothing came of it. Montreal didn't take a single penalty this period and the Crow took three but Montreal's offense was slumping. The only goal of the period was from St. Louis Scarecrows Derek Underscore who tallied his fourth of the season already, assists from Damien Wert and Johnny Cahill. The third period was fast paced but extremely one sided as the Crows outshot the Impact 16-3! It was a complete no show third period for Montreal. John Wick makes the game 4-2 from a great pass from strong man Carl the Mountain, and Winston Windsor. First overall pick and sensational rookie Robb Wind takes advantage and racks up his first goal of his SMJHL career! Assisted by Damien Wert, 5-2 Crows lead. It wasn't over yet as John Matthews scored his third of the season, and Stacker Pentecost followed suit to make it 7-2. Another powerplay goal from the Crows with the Matthews goal and they proved their dominance today on home ice. Ciarelli had a weak game in net for the Impact and John Hirschman stepped in but didn't fair much better, allowing 3 goals on 15 shots himself.
