*Ready for Grading*

I'm here to answer any questions about my recent trade to the Impact, ask away Cheers

What are your main goals as you join your new club other than winning the cup, obviously?
To be a leader in the locker room. There are a lot of great guys in the Montreal dressing room, but with most of them being called up next season I will be relied upon for leadership of the new wave of rookies who will be joining the team. I really enjoyed having this role on the Falcons this season being one of the assistant captains, and I hope to carry this over to the Impact. Montreal has a really good drafting history, so it's going to be cool to help the next group of rookies adjust and thrive in the SMJHL.

I also am hoping to really prove myself out on the ice. The Impact have a very skilled offensive core, and I see myself thriving on the team in a top six role. I'm not sure which line I will be on yet, but playing with Jesster would be a pretty amazing experience. I think we could really build some chemistry, as he is a very good shooter and I could use my playmaking ability to set him up for goals. Being on a line with Chris Welch would be awesome too, he is one of the guys that I first started talking to back when we were both rookies. If I am not on a line with them, being on the second line would be awesome too. Falk is a beast, along with Pretty Falko so I think us 3 would make a pretty killer line if that could work out.

Which player from the Impact contacted you first after the trade?
Ballerstorm was the first person to get in touch with me. He was the one who actually traded for me, so it was nice to hear from him right after the trade went official. He was familiar with me from the Calgary locker room, and jumped on the opportunity to bring me to the Impact. He knows what I can bring to a team, so I'm really excited to get settled in with the Impact.

What makes you exited the most about being a member of the Montreal Impact?
The skill of the team. They have an absolutely stacked offensive core, which I have the honor of joining. With the addition of me and Clayton, who are both offensively minded players, it gets even better. I really think we are going to be a force to be reckoned with out on the ice. They also have a strong defensive core, with Morenov and Wolff both being very skilled vets, along with having Grundmanis who has been one of the best defensive rookies this season. And in net, they have arguably the best goalie in the league with Ciarelli. They have a very strong and well rounded team, and I'm excited to see what we can accomplish out on the ice.

Does it make it any easier to go to the Impact with a fellow Falcon in Jasper Clayton?
Yeah for sure. Me and Clayton have been good friends ever since we were both drafted to the Falcons, so it's great to be able to continue my SMJHL journey with him. If we were ever to be traded, we wanted to go to the same team together so it's awesome that Schmidt could respect our wishes in that way. It's nice to have a friend in the Impact locker room already, and its helped me to feel at home pretty quickly.

Will you be bringing My Little Pony to the Montreal Locker Room?
I think at this point Jasper Clayton is more obsessed with My Little Pony than me, and he has already brought his love of Rainbow Dash to the Montreal dressing room. Maybe we can covert the rest of the team into MLP lovers, and we can start another #TeamBrony.

I assume from your name being Burch that you go to church.
You haven't heard about the Church of Burch? It's only the best cult going around! Don't worry, I'll make sure to invite you to our next meeting.

Are you upset that you couldn't get away from goon and minus leader Jasper Clayton?
Not at all. How can you not be entertained when Clayton goes full Girard out on the ice? It gives us all good entertainment, and the fans love it. Clayton's second home is the penalty box, he has his own waterbottle and towel in it! And Clayton just gets confused at what sport we are playing. Sometimes he thinks we are playing golf, and that having the most negative plus minus will mean that he wins. It's a common mistake, I'm sure.

Will you be making the SHL next season?
I don't think so. Calgary has great forward depth, and all of their top prospects right now are forwards, so it's going to be tough for me to crack the SHL roster. With McZ and Randleman moving up next season, I don't think there would be any room for me. But that's fine with me. Esa would rather have me playing in a top-six role and take on some leadership with my junior team rather than playing 5 minutes a night on the fourth line. That's cool with me too. I'm excited for my first full season with the Impact, and with a lot of the vets leaving after this season I will be relied upon to be a leader in the locker room. Even not being in the SHL, next season will still be a fun time for me.

Best memory from your career in Detroit?
That's a hard one. There were so many great memories I have from my time there. However, I have to go with my most memorable impact on the team, #TeamBrony. I hadn't really bonded with anyone on the team yet, and was still shy in the locker room. Then after deciding to write my hazing story with a MLP theme, it hit off well with my teammates. They found it hilarious, and decided to write their stories based off of the same premise. That was the first time I really felt like I was a part of the team, and that I belonged. It became a recurring joke for us, and we began to be known as Team Brony around the league. Jasper Clayton is still running with it, having a MLP avatar and still joking about how big of a brony he is. I'm just glad everyone else found my weird sense of humor funny.

I don't have the worst +/- in the league, I checked.

I was extremely worried about that.

 It's only a number, you're still killing it offensively.

But it's a negative number

Problem is, I'm doing amazingly on the powerplay. So I don't get pluses from the points I'm putting up.
