On the SHL Draft
#1

The SHL Entry draft is the real deal, the first chance any aspiring young player gets to make it in the big leagues. It might seem daunting, and that's because it is. What a lot of people seem to overlook is the conversations immediately following said drat. Several other users have already discussed how to raise your draft stock, but what I'm going to do, is talk about what to do after the draft if you're drafted at a high position.

<div align="center">Presenting, Atlas' Guide On How to Respond to High Ranking</div>

1. Keep working hard
Where were you drafted? First round? Top 5? Top 3? First overall? Good job, you've made it. The eyes of the league are on you, and everybody is expecting excellence from you. Show them that you've got what it takes, don't let anybody think you didn't deserve to go where you did. If you earned a high draft spot, well done, but your job isn't done yet. You still actually have to have a successful SHL career to show that your new GM didn't waste their draft pick on you. Don't slack off, never forget Activity Checks and weekly training, do all of the PTs, etcetera and etcetera. The work doesn't end immediately after you're drafted.

Your teammates and staff need you to be a future superstar, and future superstars don't start taking it easy as soon as they're drafted 1oa. Look at players like Cody Black, Mainio Makinen, Kris Ruud. All top 10 picks, in the S26 SHL draft, none of whom have slowed down at all since being selected on that one faithful day. Obviously there are exceptions, but those are almost always special circumstances outside of their control. There's no reason to try less just because you've already been drafted.

I know, I know, another 'list' with only one bullet point, but it truly is this simple. Some people go crazy with '100 ways to improve your draft stock with vector calculus' but it boils down to some very base fundamentals. Keep working away, continue to grow, and prove that you deserved to be taken so early in the draft. Not everyone gets the honor of going first overall, or top 3 or 5 or 10, or even in the first round. Make it known that you were worth it.

Hardly true tbh.

Step 1) Get famous
Step 2) Get drafted high because famous
Step 3) Cruise control
Step 4) Profit!!!
