The best pairing ever?
#1

Friedrich Muller, left, and Jackson Rogers-Tanaka, right, after winning the Challenge cup in S28

During the S20's the Edmonton Blizzard were a powerhouse team. A team that made the finals three times in seven seasons, winning 1 challenge cup and 1 presidents trophy along the way, the Blizzard were always a force to be reckoned with. The Blizzard have also had some amazing players come through their ranks during that time. Hall of famers like Chico Salmon, Jakub Aittokallio, and many other incredible talents such as theo kane, pedro sarantez, Chuck Goody, Barney Stinson, the list goes on and on. The Blizzard have had a history of having the best players in their position on the team, and Edmontons mainstay Defensive pairing during the S20's was no exception.

Friedrich Muller came to the Edmonton Blizzard in S23 after requesting a trade from the Hamilton Steelhawks. This would result in Blizzard legend Rico Muerto getting sent the other way. Muller's first season with Edmonton he was put on a pairing with fellow S20 draft class member Jackson Rogers-Tanaka. The two were immediately one of the best young defensive pairings in the league. Muller ended up putting up 27 points and JRT put up 34 that season. Not incredible numbers by any means, but these players were young, and they were ready to show the league what they were made of.

THE S23 PLAYOFFS
The S23 playoffs might be the high point of this prolific pairing the in shl. A playoffs that saw the Blizzard knock out the Renegades and the Riot en route to losing the Challenge cup to New England. But despite the challenge cup loss there was still one player that was very much considered for the Anton Razov (playoff MVP) trophy. That player was Friedrich Muller. Muller and JRT put up a combined 35 points in 20 games, and Muller lead the league in scoring. Muller ended up losing the Razov trophy to New England Goaltender Jermaine Tennyson, but many today argue that Muller should have that award added to his shelf.

After this season JRT and Muller were a force to be reckoned with. They didn't play with eachothe every season, Goody and Stinson came through and broke up the pairing a couple of times. But for the majority of the time they were there they were together. Between them they had two Stevens nominations and multiple all-star team nominations. They may not have all the incredible hardware that some other pairing might have, but its hard to find a better pairing with two elite defenders that stuck together over the history of the SHL.

Are they the best two defenders to every play together? No. But as two defenders together, they might have been the most feared when they were on the ice. We'll see if the HoF committee agrees in a couple seasons when these two start appearing on ballots.

tl;dr

i meant like do they have the highest combined tpe as a pairing, no

But im saying despite that, because of he way they worked together they are probably one of the best pairings ever.

I think the only one to ever have both players in the top 10 on argars list at the same time
