Greetings to yall! Thank you for tuning in today at Fantasy Sports XM. As always we have a guest from a fantasy league and this time our guest is from Simulated Hockey League, Teodors Cukurs who is playing as a second line center for the Edmonton Blizzards. The line is open so feel free to call in and ask you questions right away!

Quote:Hello! It´s Leroy calling from Quebec and my question goes to Teodors, hi Teodors! What is your opinion on some forwards playing on average something like 27 minutes per game? That is a lot of hockey in one game, could you do something similar? jRuutu

[T.Cukurs]Hey Leroy, how you doin'? Yes indeed, we saw that quite a bit this season but it has been upcoming for several seasons already I believe. The game is progressing every day. It gets faster, it gets more aggressive, it gets more exciting for fans like yourself to watch. And we, players, have to progress with the game otherwise we will be left behind and the new bucks who will be prepared to play such hockey will come and replace us. The good thing is that we are in it right now, we are in the time of transition therefore we have the time and options to work and go with the flow of the game. I, myself, indeed have been working on my endurance to be able at some point to do the same as all these stars of other teams. Even Scholz played almost 27min this season...and even more last season. Its not anymore case of defensman playing long minutes...as you probably already know it was actually a forward who played the most minutes on avarage this season. I mean I understand that coaches and gm's want to use their stars to the max in order to succeed but it is not just a question of "can you hang on" for 27min in total game time...it also puts up a bigger chance of your star player getting an injury and being out of the game. But considering how rare are injuries in our league, then I guess its okey.

Thank you Leroy for your question! We have another caller! Hello and thank you for calling - what is your question!?

Quote:Tucker Mattheson here, what kind of season can we expect from the Blizzard this year? Who's your pick to lead the team in scoring? and lastly which rookie(s) have impressed you the most thus far? karlssens

[T.Cukurs]Hi Tucker! For your second question the answer is simple and I don't see that changing for few more seasons ahead, at least at this point as you never know what kind of trades will come in, but yeah, it most likely will be Steven. I guess Reinis was close this season to the scoring but it really depends on his progression and growth as a player. What you can expect from the team this year? Better hockey than last year for sure. I believe that I have finally found my place in the team, I have found the chemestry with my line mates and other players as well, so I feel good about my upcoming seasons performance. And if I get better and others get better as well then there is only one direction and that is up and forwards. I don't think that we gonna be a playoff team tho, but we will be fighting for every game to be a win. Nonetheless we want to make ourselves proud of our game and also you, the fans, to feel that we are getting better and that there is what to look forwards in the next seasons. And about the rookies I will be honest - it was a hard off-season so I did not had the chance to see all the rookies, I just heard who we drafted and what trades we did and I am satisfied and confident in our managements decisions to draft these guys and trade, whichever way they got to Blizzard. Young, full of potential and so much space to grow in general for them. We wont see them in Blizzard for few seasons but they will join us right at the peak of the Blizzardians triumph time!

[HOST]Thank you Tucker! We have another caller, let's hear him out!

Quote:Hey, long time listener, first time caller! Do you think there are some prospects that should be called up this season that aren't? If you had to do your career over again, would you come up to the SHL faster or slower? mpc

[T.Cukurs]As I just said in the previous question, I did not had the time to actually follow the draft and I am not fully informed about the call ups and send downs but again I think that every GM knows or at least has an idea what they want to do and when they want it to happen. From my own experience I know that it is not just a decision of a GM but a player as well and most of the times if the player really wants to be called up he is called up. It is really based on where are you in your progression, therefore you have to be ready to maybe even be a benchwarmer if the team that drafted you has many stars that are much stronger than you coming in straight from like one or two seasons in SMJHL. So my answer to your question is - probably there are players that could have been called up but for one or another reason they were not and that decision is final and they will play another season in SMJHL which is not a bad thing and leads me to your second question. If I would have to do my career over again, I would not change a thing. I might actually wish to stay down for another season. I was drafted to Portland Admirals who were in a rebuild position and there was space for me to wiggle around as in the state they were, there was no need for me to come up that quick as I would not change much in the outcome of their positions by the end of the seasons. I am a competitive guy and I like to compete and win of course, so for me to be one of the strongest centers in SMJHL was perfect and I enjoyed the heck out of the league. I really wanted to leave SMJHL with a cup in my hands but unfortunately it did not happen, so if I would have been able to stay down for one more, the last season, I would.

[HOST]Alright, alright, thank you for your question so far and lets head to a musical pause before we continue!

[HOST]And welcome back to the show! For those who just turned on your electronic devices I remind that today's quest is no one else than SHL leagues own Edmonton Blizzard center Teodors Cukurs. We took some questions from our listeners and I believe we have time for one more so ring up and ask away what you're interested in!

Quote:This is Al from Edmonton. Long time listener, first time caller. Of the upcoming prospects, who would you like to play with the most? Ace

[T.Cukurs]Hey whats up Al! Yeah, well I cannot answer to this question! Unfortunately I would like to keep that to myself as I dont want to pick no-one and give the press any information for unnecessary speculation around me, the new talent, my team and the organization. One thing I really hate is the yellow press and I know that what I will tell here will be taken and remastered into a totally different meaning, so I will leave this question to be unanswered. Thank you for the question though and I appreciate your interest.

[HOST]Sorry Al, but we cannot force our guest to answer questions if they dont want to so we will leave this here. Thank you all the listeners for tuning in as every week! We hope you enjoyed our show and thank you to our quest Teodors! This show would not exist if not for our supporter from "Hooks" sports gear shop - "Hooks" where we will hook you up with any gear for any sport!"
Before we end our show - any last words Teo?

[b][T.Cukurs]
Yes! I would like to say thank you to all the callers for their questions as well. I really enjoyed the time here and answering them! I would also like to extend my deepest love to all the Blizzard fans that has been with us for a long time in ups and downs and especially now while we are still rebuilding and are not the best team to be fan off! The die-hard fans like you is the reason why our team can exist and keep fighting even when we are down. You give us the hope for better future and I hope that we, the players, do the same for you - give hope and future for the team to be fan of.

[HOST]Right! Thank you again and till next time!
