Quick Mafs appreciates feedback. He likes to get really up in personal with his microphone but he understands it is not for everyone and will make changes just for you.

It's not "just for me" it's how to make you sound better for everyone listening, happy listeners means they'll come and listen to the next podcast. I understand the proximity effect you are trying to achieve, but you can get that effect by getting about 3 inches from the diaphragm rather than being right up against it. The trouble is the proximity effect requires EQ and to turn the gain down a lot to clean up the muddiness that's added to your voice in the low end and the clipping (distortion) in the track. If not cleaned up makes listener's ears tired, even if not consciously perceived they'll just feel uncomfortable while listening. Up to you, this is just advice from a sound engineer of around 20 years.
