I understand the proximity effect you are trying to achieve, but you can get that effect by getting about 3 inches from the diaphragm rather than being right up against it. The trouble is the proximity effect requires EQ and to turn the gain down a lot to clean up the muddiness that's added to your voice in the low end and the clipping (distortion) in the track. If not cleaned up makes listener's ears tired, even if not consciously perceived they'll just feel uncomfortable while listening. Up to you, this is just advice from a sound engineer of around 20 years. ![]() |
