ml's S41 Big Board Still Doing This Thing
#1

Welcome to ml002’s S41 SHL Draft Big Board, where I rank the prospects for the upcoming SHL draft. So for clarity, this is not a mock draft! We don’t know the order at the top of the draft yet, tho I may do a 2.0 version where I adjust my rankings due to TPE changes, changes in activity, and anything else that could affect someone’s draft stock. So for you first gens wondering why you are where you are on my list, I’ll go over my criteria for determining the rankings. The big thing is to not worry about your SMJHL season stats, as those really don’t matter for SHL GMs who are more focused on activity and TPE growth. So first, the big thing, especially with a smaller draft class like this one, is that recreates get priority over you new guys. However being a recreate doesn’t guarantee you a high selection, if you’ve shown that you tend to go inactive, which can be a big red flag for GMs who want an active player who is going to grow. Secondly, that you consistent are getting your activity checks and PTs done, and an even bigger bonus if you have equipment and individual trainings done. GMs like to see that you are either getting money through doing media articles/graphics and/or have a job on-site to get a consistent income outside of your contract. Finally, is how active you are outside of just updating your player, such as interacting with others articles or threads. Also as the GM of PGF I’ll do my best to ignore my bias towards my players, though I’ll probably lobby for why they deserve to be drafted highly. So now that I have that out of the way I’ll be covering the Top 28 (basically the first two rounds) prospects in this seasons draft. (ALL TPE TOTALS ARE BASED ON THE FINAL UPDATE BEFORE THE PLAYOFFS STARTED SO DONT @ ME THAT YOU GOT MORE IM LZ OK)

28. RW Lachlan Paterson Firebirds (TPE: 168 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3043' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>CompleteBelter</a>
First we have the Scottish forward from the Prince George Firebirds, Lachlan Paterson. A late free agent from the regular season, CompleteBelter has been keeping up with PTs and activity checks since he joined the site. As his GM I’ll say he’s been a pleasure to have since he has joined and I think long term he could be a solid SHLer. That said he is behind a lot of other players in this class due to how late he joined, but could be a solid late pick in this class. Grade: Late 2nd

27. RW Lucas Rammer Whalers (TPE: 192 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3018' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>tangboynyc</a>
Up next, we have the American power forward from the Vancouver Whalers, Lucas Rammer. Another in a large number of first gens, his activity has taken a bad dip and could be a risky pick in the draft. Could be just due to the Whalers missing the playoffs, but definitely a risky situation if his activity doesn’t pick up going into the draft. Grade: Late 2nd to Early 3rd

26. D Gordie Maple Scarecrows (TPE: 188 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3031' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>mmfootball</a>
The first of the flurry of early seasons’ FAs that joined shortly after the draft, Gordie Maple of the St. Louis Scarecrows is an intriguing prospect. Gordie Maple is the first dman to feature on my board, but is one of only seven active defenseman in this class, so he could get taken earlier if a team has a need for a defensive prospect. Activity has dipped in recent weeks, but that can change before the draft, however that will affect his ranking for me for now. Maybe he joins his SMJHL GM in JKortesi in Calgary? Grade: Late to Mid 2nd

25. D Troy McClure Jr Mammoths (TPE: 172 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3008' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Troy_McClure03</a>
After going 6th overall in the SMJHL Draft, Troy McClure Jr of the Colorado Mammoths maybe wondering if he will be anywhere near that in SHL Draft. Now, I understand why he was picked at 6 in Juniors, lack of many defensive prospects forces teams to take bigger swings at prospects that may not pan out perfectly, but the TPE production is worrying. However, his activity is still solid and I think that will encourage SHL GMs. Overall, with such a small defenseman class, I think he’ll be a solid choice if you are looking to fill out a depth defenseman spot with decent upside I think he will be a solid late round choice. Grade: Late to Mid 2nd

24. G Greg Santos Whalers (TPE: 177 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3038' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Barracuda</a>
Another one of the late free agents in this class, we have the Whalers’ new goaltender in Greg Santos. Great TPE production for registering so late in process, and a glowing review from Teddy in his latest podcast, has me high on this prospect. I could see him being a late riser on GMs boards as we get closer to the draft and I am tempted to move him up my board in the near future. Only downside is just how rare SHL starting jobs open up, but if he is willing to sit and learn as a backup I can see great upside for this prospect. Grade: Mid 2nd

23. C Steve McGirthensons Firebirds (TPE: 187 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3035' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Chody716</a>
The first of my Buffalo Boys in Prince George is Steve McGirthensons. Joined early in the season as a free agent and has had alright TPE production so far. Not super active, but gets his TPE related things done and could be a long term project for a team without prospects. However, he is one of only five centers in this class and with how important the position is I can see a team taking a chance on him to play a role long term. Grade: Mid 2nd

22. RW Aiden Elswick raiders (TPE: 213 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3017' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>TheMemeMaestro</a>
The 12th overall pick from Halifax in the SMJHL Draft, we have the winger Aiden Elswick. After a strong start, TheMemeMaestro has started to fade in activity on the site and is edging on 10 days away. Could be a risk for a team, but if a team can get him in and active there is clearly potential there. Grade: Late to Mid 2nd

21. RW Doug Dimmadome Firebirds (TPE: 204 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3033' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Michalak29</a>
The second of the Buffalo Boys from Prince George, I have the winger Doug Dimmadome. Slightly more active than McGirthensons, and more active in getting that TPE I think for a free agent first gen this is a solid choice. Grade: Mid 2nd (maybe Early but hard to say for sure)

20. D Jussi Hammanen Whalers (TPE: 194 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3011' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>CatmanIndustries</a>
Next, we have the Finnish defenseman from Vancouver, Jussi Hammanen. Active defenseman are going to be a premium in this draft and generally players out of Vancouver are solid options for activity. A little lower on TPE than others but not lagging behind too massively where I would be hesitant to take him if he gets to me in the second. Grade: Mid 2nd (Could be early depending how quickly other dmen go off the board)

19. LW Muhammad McLovin Firebirds (TPE: 208 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3030' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>kobel9</a>
The final of the Firebirds Buffalo Boys, we have one of the best names in the draft, winger Muhammad McLovin. The most active of the Buffalo Boys and has been very proactive with his build trying to learn about the sim engine. Solid guy in the locker room, I don’t think you can go wrong picking this guy. Could have a high ceiling. Grade: Mid to Early 2nd

18. RW Xavier Paquette Knights (TPE: 218 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3042' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Paq</a>
Mid season addition to the Knights, we have the winger Xavier Paquette. Now I have been in Kelowna’s locker room this season and I have been very impressed by Paq. Fairly active, getting his TPE, and very open to help on his build. Could be a steal in the second round in my opinion. I can see GMs learning and talking to this guy and being very interested in picking him up. Great potential for a later pick in this draft. Grade: Early 2nd

17. G Benjamin Blue Firebirds (TPE: 223 / First Gen?) <a href='index.php?showuser=2628' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>BoucherFan12</a>
Next we have the Swedish goaltender from the Firebirds, Benjamin Blue. Now I’m gonna be honest, Blue was my first ever draft pick so my bias is pretty much unavoidable. Great kid in the locker room, but still learning the site. Failed to get off the ground with a player before, but never even made an update thread for him. I think he has learned a lot this past season, despite his dire stats in sim has been as positive as ever. If you are a franchise looking for a developmental goalie and are patient and help him build up, Blue has great potential to be a starting goaltender in my opinion. Grade: Early 2nd

16. D Koda Reece raiders (TPE: 206 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=2203' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Stamkos Is My Dad</a>
The first recreate on my board, is defenseman Koda Reece of the Raiders. He fell in the SMJHL draft all the way to 28th, but has remained active and with him being a recreate he gets that boost up my board despite his tpe being behind some first gens. I can see him solidly near the middle of this draft class with some extra value as a dman. Grade: Early 2nd to Late 1st

15. RW DabCity Savage Militia (TPE: 208 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=1273' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Elyk</a>
After calling it a career with Elyk, we have another recreate in DabCity Savage as a winger from the Militia. With over 1,000 career games with his last player, I can see the Jets picking up a former user and keep Elyk in the family. Overall probably a fine pick as we get to the end of the first into the second round. Grade: Late 1st

14. RW Kristaps Ball Whalers (TPE: 229 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3000' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>jcfbey01</a>
Next we have another one of the Whalers in winger Kristaps Ball. I can only imagine Ball is the love child of Lavar and some poor Latvian woman, but that aside solid TPE production is a great sign and I think that this could be a very solid pick for a team hovering around that midway point in this draft. Grade: Late 1st to Early 2nd

13. RW Rahotrp Tutankhamun Militia (TPE: 225 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=23' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>ORIGINSZ</a>
Let me say thanks to copy and paste, because trying to type this name out is a nightmare for my monkey brain, but up next we have the Montreal winger Rahotrp Tutankhamun. Welcome back to ORIGINSZ to my big board for the second draft in a row, but more congrats on having a build you are happy about. Obviously as a recreate the value is first round, but it just depends which team wants to ORIGINSZ in the team. Really hard to predict where in the first but good TPE production is an indicator that the next few picks could be swapped all around on draft night. Grade: Mid to Late 1st

12. D Kevin Maddox Mammoths (TPE: 238 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3014' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Toxic</a>
Now we are entering that next level of TPE with defenseman Kevin Maddox of Colorado. Great production from a first gen, and knowing Incite I doubt the username matches the user in the locker room. Could be a late riser with the need for defenseman and really creates a cluster fuck for the mid to late first round picks. Grade: Mid to Late 1st

11. LW Cash Savage Mammoths (TPE: 242 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3013' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Cash savage</a>
A favorite of mine for this draft, we have another Mammoth in winger Cash Savage. Great TPE production for a first gen and all my interaction with him has been great. Really could be a great pick up for a playoff team with a need for high end prospects. Another player that I want to rank higher, but suffers from that first gen tag. Really active on the site too for a rookie. Could really go anywhere from 8th to 14th for me really hard to say at the moment. Grade: Mid to Late 1st

10. C Cody Johansson Whalers (TPE: 229 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=2391' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Marko04</a>
Next we have the free agent that chose Vancouver, centerman Cody Johansson. You may look at his TPE and wonder what I am thinking, but you gotta remember he came back to recreate as a free agent and has really been impressive in the TPE production department. Obviously teams may be hesitant due to his inactivity with his last player, but this isn’t a ridiculously deep recreate class or center class so I see someone taking him for the upside of a user knowing what they are doing. Grade: Mid to Late 1st

9. C Mattias Enqvist Mammoths (TPE: 237 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=159' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Reynolds</a>
His season started with getting draft and immediately being traded to the Mammoth. That’s right next we have Swedish center Mattias Enqvist. A recreate at a premium position is going to be hard for some GMs to pass up and that makes sense. Could do with going to a place that already knows him. Solid choice overall. Grade: Top 10

8. LW Daniel Danlil Militia (TPE: 244 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=2939' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-67'>Dan^2</a>
Next up, is the first in a run of highly impressive first gens from this class, we have the Militia’s winger Daniel Danlil. Dan^2 was named as the SMJHL HO Intern early in the season and done an good job so far and been a good guy from my interactions with him in the GM discord. I think a team will fall in love with his production and upside. Grade: Top 10

7. RW Piotr Czerkawski Militia (TPE:251 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3020' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>majesiu</a>
Another Montreal boy we have the nephew of Mariusz Czerkawski, winger Piotr Czerkawski. Impressive TPE production at lands him top 5 in TPE for his class (of the draft eligible players). Shown some impressive media creation skill, including a video for him player. Seems like a player teams could go either way on, but I think a team could be determined to get him with that production. Grade: Top 10

6. C Alex Andani Whalers (TPE: 246 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3001' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-59'>Carbine</a>
The second to last first gen on my board and the final of the Whalers prospects in this draft we have center Alex Andani. Carbine has shown that he wants to be here to stay and has taken over as the WJC Commissioner, which I think for a lot of teams is going to be a big signal for an active player. On top of that, at a premium position we could be looking at a franchise level center for the future if he continues to impress with his TPE production, which is easily top 10 in his class. Grade: Top 10 with Top 5 upside

5. LW Flacko Lagerfield Falcons (TPE: 256 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=2729' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>JSS</a>
One of two Falcons prospects in my top 5, I have winger Flacko Lagerfield. JSS has had a few players that haven’t panned out, but I think he is here to stay this time around. Now I have a bit of bias, as he is my GM in another league, but this faith is far from unfounded. I’ve talked a lot with him and he seems to be very invested in Flacko and he has a job with the J Awards Committee (which for some people may be a huge negative cause we are the worst). Depending on who has the first overall pick, I think he could go anywhere in the top 5. Grade: Top 5 to First Overall

4. C Dayymo Ralchankinov Militia (TPE: 245 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=1571' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-62'>damienj10</a>
The final player from a loaded Montreal draftee class, we have centerman Dayymo Ralchankinov (seriously y’all are killing me with these names). Damienj10 is a more than proven commodity in the SHL with Wert and that with his TPE production could land him going early in this draft class. My top center on the board and could go anywhere in the top 5. Grade: Top 5 :ez:

3. G Kata Vilde Knights (TPE: 250 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=1526' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>BarnabasCollins</a>
The top goaltender on my board, out of Kelowna, is Kata Vilde. The artist formerly known as belgarat, we have a more that proven member of the SHL community and I think is a top 5 talent in this class. Nice guy who probably couldn’t care less about what I say about him so I keep this short and sweet. You need a goaltender for the future? Draft dis guy. Grade: Top 5 but only on team need

2. LW Lightning Jones Falcons (TPE: 251 / Recreate) <a href='index.php?showuser=1178' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Jedi</a>
The final(?!Wink recreate on my board is the winger from the Detroit Falcons Lightning Jones. Jedi is another and final recreate on my board that has a proven history with his players that includes a Challenge Cup. Could have been #1 on my board, but insulted my SHL team in the North Stars with a ranking of 9th (was 12th before some convincing that we do in fact exist) so I gotta knock him down a peg. Angry But seriously this guy could easily could be the first overall pick on draft night. Grade: Top 5 :ez:

1. D Reginald MacIntyre raiders (TPE: 263 / First Gen) <a href='index.php?showuser=3009' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>GoonerBear</a>
WOW ML A FIRST GEN AS THE #1 OVERALL ON YOUR BOARD R U STOOPID. First of all, yes I am, but I think Reginald MacIntyre, defenseman out of Halifax, is the best player in a small defenseman class. Silly TPE production that has him top of his class at the time of looking at the official builds. On top of that, he’s been pretty active on site. I think if a team with defensive needs gets the first overall pick, he’ll be the first off the board very quickly. Only problem is his shite taste in football club (frick da Gooners up da Spuds), but I think teams might be able to look past that issue. Grade: Top 5 :ez:

My opinion of the class overall: Obviously a small class overall with only 30 or so actives I expect to get drafted. A bit top heavy, but I think there could be some gems late in the second for teams needing to fill out a prospect pool.
