Season 44 will be a historic one for this franchise, for a couple of reasons not least of which will be the swan song season for long time captain, Kelly Rivet. We also will be welcoming some new faces to the team, in the form of prospects Goku Muerto, Leshaun King, Sean Stevenson Jr, and Ray Bork. Fans are excited to see these new additions in action, and we’re excited to get this season underway. First thing is first though, we need to announce the Pride captains for S44, and this season we’ve decided to split our alternate captains between home and away games.

Away Game Alternates

Jack Tanner will continue to wear a letter for the team, and he’ll be joined by Leshaun King as alternate captains when the team is travelling. Jack has been a strong leader in our locker room for a few seasons now, and he’ll show King the ropes of leading an SHL team. These two should make for an excellent pair, and we hope some chemistry will form from this bond.

Home Game Alternates

Dakota Reid will also continue wearing her A this season, and will be joined by another new face, Goku Muerto. Koda is a fan favourite who loves getting the crowd into the games, and we expect that Goku’s electrifying style will also lift the fans up. Not only will these two be paired as alternates, they will likely be playing on a line together, so it could be the beginning of something special.

Head Captain

Of course there’s no question who our captain is.. Kelly Rivet! Kelly has been the face of the franchise through the transition from the Admirals to the Pride, and he embodies everything we’re proud to represent here in SFP. I’m so grateful that Kelly has stuck with us for their entire career, and it’s been an honour to work with him for 8 seasons now. I hope the fans take every chance they get to come out and see Kelly one more time before he hangs em up at the end of the season. Kelly Rivet will go down as arguably the biggest Legend in franchise history.
