Mortensen talking to the press shortly after being drafted by "The Evil Empire"

After a disappointing year, Tobias Mortensen is moving to sunny Florida, after being drafted by the West Kendall Platoon in the second round, eleventh overall.

"I think my draft stock definitely dropped after the season I had, but I'm more than happy with where I went. It will be nice to have a change of scenery, and a change of weather, as well. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season, hopefully I can do better this upcoming year than this past season."

A few hours after the draft, Mortensen signed a three year contract worth ten million dollars.

Mortensen will head to West Kendall tomorrow morning, and will be participating in team training camp shortly after his arrival.

"While I played in the SHL, I was always a fan of the Platoon even though I was part of a couple of their rivalries. I liked the players there, and the management was always top notch. I'm looking forward to spending more time there as I help Tobias adjust himself to the SHL level. Even if his development was hindered last season, I think he'll have no trouble adjusting to the pro game. Season Outlook:
Look for either Tobias to move to the wing, or another player as the Mortensen joins a stacked centre line-up including Dougie Brind'amour, Sarmad Khan, Gregory Lazaro, and Nicholas Mastromarino. He joins an offensively talented line-up that should boost his offensive numbers.
