S45 Year In Review

Season 46 was a really good year for me, actually my most productive year yet, playing good minutes with some quality players and getting in on a good amount of powerplay time as well. This season I feel was a real breakout year for me, unsure where I was going as a player to start the year I think I really found my identity. Before the season started Ace approached me with a proposal for an extension with the wolfpack, and at that point I shut down all talks of extending my contact with New England, not because I didn’t want to be here with the pack, but because I didn’t know what direction my career was going, without this season being as impactful as it was for me, I might be looking at early retirement. Updates were becoming lackluster, my TPE earnings slipped behind many of my S39 members and I felt like I wasn’t good enough to be an impact player for my team. Until the season started, after an incredible early stretch my production slowed down, but remained much better and much more consistent in years past. Even with the slowdown in my production I was on pace to shatter my career highs in all categories. The Wolfpack and I went on a heater and had a long stretch of some really good hockey and found ourselves in a playoff spot. I remember the time in the season where I realized that New England is home and this is where I want to be playing, and not only playing, but be a star. I may not be the most skilled player on the team, shattering league records or putting up team high numbers, but I was determined to play the game the right way every time I step out on the ice, I was committed to playing for the crest on the front of my jersey rather than the name on the back. I realized my chance to stay with this group we have in New England was going to be over if I didn’t move on what I wanted to I went to Ace to re-open contract talks and we settled on a number be both felt was fair. I may have gotten a bit more had I gone and tested the market, but nowhere in the league would make me feel at home. The locker room here is amazing, Ace is a great GM, always keeping up to date with the lives of his players and making them comfortable, not being a boss, but being a friend. On top of that there are so many people in this room that are so supportive and I would call my friends like rice, raven, Muvfasa, Campin killer,Carbine, JCF, I cant possibly name them all but everyone is so supportive of eachother in the SHL and outside of it and that’s what makes this group so tight, were like a little family in this room and were all playing for each other, we update not only to improve our own players, but to improve the team as a whole. I have no doubt in my mind that this group will soon be a top the standing and raising the Challenge Cup at the end of the year; and I cant wait for it to be with this group.

This season individually was huge for me, like I said, my best year yet. I got my first career hatty, career highs in points, goals, and assists. And earned more TPE than I ever have in a single season, but I couldn’t have done it without the team around me. I know I continue to go back to the team again and again. But it is so important that people realize how great of a locker room we have here because that is the focal point of our success and it is indicative of our playoff appearance this year, although it was short, it gave this team a thirst for more, and baby were coming for it next year. GO PACK GO!
