The Prospect Showcase (sometimes annual, but mostly not) has arrived for the S46 Season! With almost 60 prospects invited to the showcase we've seen them split up between four different teams. In the Determined Conference we have the Blazers and the Wranglers and in the Tenacious Conference we have the Vipers and the Stingrays. Upon the conclusion of the Blazer's pre-playoff final game, Joseph Laraque has stopped by for some questions from the throng of reporters covering the event.

The Blazers have really been the strongest team throughout the tournament finishing with a record of 12-8-0, how do you feel the team has done so well?

It's been a great team effort so far from the boys. Our whole roster is filled with star studded prospects so it was all about coming together as a team. The rest just came naturally as a result. We actually went out and had a sort of pasta night dinner at the local Olive Garden the night before the start of the tournament.

Just looking at the statistics here, you posted 9 goals and 14 assists, amassing a total of 23 points. Are you happy with your performance through the tournament?

Definitely. I can thank my linemates for really elevating their games as well, I couldn't have done it without them. We should definitely make some noise in the playoffs and I think we have a great shot at winning the whole thing. In fact I think the whole team will be real disappointed if we don't win.

Do you think the results of the Showcase will impact your draft position in a couple days?

You have to hope it might increase my draft stock. I definitely put up some healthy numbers with the help of my linemates and feel like I showcased my defensive skills as well. Certainly any doubts by any GMs should have been washed away.

Is there anyone on the Blazers you'd like to end up on a team with?

I'd be honored to be on a team with any of these guys. If I had to pick one it would probably be Gunnar. He's such a smooth skating guy and an overall great player. Playing on a line with him makes the game come easy.

It's been reported that you and Lex Peters were big rivals in youth hockey, was there any lingering passion there?

Lex is a good player and we've certainly had our scraps over the years. I remember lots of tournaments in Lake Placid playing against Canadian teams who were generally superior but the home field advantage was always in our favor. Playing on a line with him was a good reminder of my roots and how much we all love this game and why we play it. Nothing like playing in the same rink where the greatest miracle on ice happened.

Would playing on the same team as him be an issue if you were to be drafted together?

Oh definitely not... We might've been rivals, but I never hated him or anything, I'm sure we could become great friends if we end up in the same place.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and ask the most important question... Did you bring Fortnite with you?

I'm not even going to give that recognition with an answer...
