(Draft Post, Not using 1st media post) SMJHL Prospect Report - Heat Siecker Edition

Just like every year around this time there is a major buzz leading up to the the SMJHL draft. Who will be the number one overall selections this year? Who will turn out to be the steal of the draft? The Answer to both questions could be... Heat Siecker.

There has been a lot of rumors about which players will wind up going in the 1st round and it will be interesting to see which teams might target the young American stud, Heat Siecker. It's a very diverse draft class that is showing a lot of dynamic, experienced players. Though, only recently has the draft shown the development of a significant number of defensemen which will make a pushing for the 1st round difficult for Heat Siecker. When asked about the draft Heat Siecker said " Well, ya know, its anybody's guess where I might be drafted at this point. You always dream of going 1st overall, and while that may be a difficult task for a new player, I think I have the skill set and drive that teams want to see in their 1st overall selection." Scouts have been raving about the development of Heat Siecker all season long and project him to be an Elite Defensemen who can log high minutes and contribute to both the defensive and offensive aspects of the game. Heat Siecker's strengths include Passing, Defense and Skating while his only weakness is checking. Heat Siecker uses his Big 6'1, 210 lb frame to defend the puck well and maximize his skating abilities. His strong passing, skating, and puck handling ability make him a constant threat on the ice and bodes well for a future Power Play quarterback.

Heat Siecker has mentioned that he has spoken to some teams about the draft and feels as though discussions are going really well. Not only does Heat Siecker intend on becoming a consistent elite defensemen in the SHL one day, but he plans on contributing to the locker room, SHL site, and with members around the community. "Being a well rounded player is really important in today's league. You want to contribute both on and off the ice and give your team the best shot at winning some championships." says Siecker.

Come Monday.. Or Tuesday, or whenever the draft may be there will be 10 teams that are interested in drafting Siecker. Scouts say every team wants a Two way defensemen who flies around the ice like a Heat Seeking Missile and contributes in a big way with a 200 foot game.
