Leonid Kofix Draft Special

This draft special will be all about my own player, the journey I took to get to this current point as well as where I see myself in the future of the SHL and which teams I may be interested in. To begin with, it has been obvious that I have created a lot of busts in the past. My last player, Bust -- ironically named, was supposed to be a full-time SMJHL player who just happened to be unproductive. Prior to that many of my other players flamed out however there is one difference this time that others can attest to -- my friends are back. I originally created Leonid Kofix with the full intention of appeasing JNH and Donini since they were back -- two of my very good friends from when I was first on the SHL. I created late with the full intention of choosing my own SMJHL team rather than risking a place where I may wind up with people who I am completely unfamiliar with. I was between Kelowna (a franchise I used to co-GM for), Detroit (where Waters is and my first player ever played), or the Anahiem Outlaws. I chose the Outlaws.

I missed so much TPE, was very far behind my class and eventually broke into buying equipment for the first time in many seasons. This is a major milestone for reasons which many of you will not understand and for which I will need to explain. I used to have a very large bank account and I spent a lot of it on many busts and buying sigs for players when I was a General Manager. I got into the mindset of conserving money rather than utilizing it as a strength and with Kofix I believe I will have the ability to change that mindset. Gone are the days of me saving money -- I will earn money in order to spend it on my current player. When I look back on things with the SHL all I really feel is regret rather than pride. I want a player to be proud about and end on a good note -- that is was Kofix is for.

Everything just feels right about this player -- the people around me, the way I am doing graphics again and doing PT's without being harassed by management. Internal motivation is what sets apart a prospect rather than utilization by his General Managers. I have been that way in various leagues (here previously, SBA the past almost two years, VHL recently) and I believe I am hitting the mix of enjoyment and motivation that is crucial to succeed and that is what will help me be a steal no matter where I am drafted. In terms of my actual player I believe it is important to know what a General Manager may be getting -- a shoot first two-way forward. I will be creating the perfect compliment to pass-first forwards and will not want to adjust simply to meta in order to create the most effective player possible. While one may counter that conforming to meta will create better results thus yielding more utility for me -- I will still have a player conforming to the meta slightly -- however mainly focusing on scoring goals.
Following the detailing of myself I find it important to understand where I stand with all of the SHL teams in order to truly understand my feelings towards this up-coming draft. The first team I will address is the Buffalo Stampede, a team that picked my previous player for whom I feel bad for -- but also understand that they are arguably one of the more stacked teams in the SHL nearly at all times. I am familiar with many people on their team (Tomen, WannabeFin, White Cornerback, hhh81, and BDonini) and would feel extremely comfortable going to Buffalo. I know that they are extremely stacked but also have young talent so it may take a while for me to make an impact. I believe that given that I have proven to myself that I can handle multiple leagues again and deal with some form of boredom I can make an impact on their pro team whenever they will want to call me up.
Following the Buffalo Stampede are the Chicago Syndicate. When I first re-joined the SHL my friend Gorlab mentioned how many of his friends are on the team and that made me like the team -- even though I had no damn clue about who they were. In terms of people I know, there are plenty for whom I was close to or am close to. Velevra, O4L, JNH, Kylrad, Kit, Boomcheck, Tylar, Confusion, Shutdown, Toast. As you may be able to tell there are plenty of people who I believe will keep me active which at the end of the day is extremely important. As a whole it looks as if they have an extremely deep farm system which will also make it difficult for me to breakthrough however I welcome the challenge as long as I am able to have a great time -- and that statement is consistent regardless of which organization selects me.
Following the Chicago Syndicate is another organization which I have major connections to as I know two of the General Manager's very well. I am familiar with both Waters and Hallsy, and on their actual team I know Wally, Ztevans, JP, and Soulja. I used to hate the Hamilton Steelhawks -- an organization which made me despise loyalty if it was not directed towards myself and one which eventually led to the implementation of minimum levels for contracts. The hatred was mainly based around the beginning of the second decade of the SHL and I would very much be open to playing for both Hallsy and Waters. Waters and I would talk non-stop about the SBA nearly a year ago and I would cherish playing for him with other people I know -- I just need to be able to breakthrough.
After the Steelhawks are the Manhattan Rage, the organization for which I wanted my original player (Smirnov Light) to get drafted to prior to being drafted by the Toronto North Stars. Other than Baelor Swift there are not many people on the team which I know and I will say that it has zero impact on my feelings for the organization. I am still intrigued by the Rage and it is an organization which I would very much be open to being drafted to. I do not see myself breaking through their lineup for at least two seasons and things can change very quickly thus I do not believe it would be useful for me to project my development with the organization until I actually arrive there.
The New England Wolfpack are a brand which I was also very intrigued with and one which I always enjoyed. Their current General Manager -- Ace -- and I had great competition against each other as two rebuilding franchises that aspired to eventually become dynasties. Given that he is still a General Manager it shows that he is passionate and that the team is very well-ran. Other than Ace I do know of Andrew Warren and jRuutu who are both great people and being able to finally play for the New England brand (even though I hate everything about New England) is something that would excite me.
The Tampa Bay Barracoda are another intriguing team for me as I know their two General Managers very well (JSS, Jepox) and they seem like a new team so I would be very interested in becoming someone who could help create history for a young franchise. I do have major interest in helping a younger franchise establish a rich history and thus the team peaks my interest. Apart from that they have a rich prospect system with whom I could play with and also have people I feel comfortable with: XLeafer, FourFour and the General Managers. From what I can tell it seems like a fun organization and a place which will not only keep me active but also motivate myself into creating a top-tier player who could make a major difference on a younger team.
The second to last Eastern Conference team I will preview are the Toronto North Stars. The North Stars are the first organization to draft me in any sim league and thus the organization itself means a lot to me. Even though the names are unfamiliar to me other than Banjo and Symmetrik (where both should be gone soon) the team has a major appeal to me as I am able to relive the fun factor for which I had with my first ever player. The team seems to be in a transition phase and I would love to enter the SHL by becoming a role playing piece on a potential contender. Shutting down other lines while scoring timely goals would be an amazing scenario to break into the SHL in.
The final Eastern Conference team I will preview are the West Kendall Platoon. It feels like yesterday when there were some events which almost led to the rebranding of the franchise, however the history is very strong and there is a certain pride associated with the franchise. With one of the current General Managers being Wongy I would feel at home -- one of the first teammates I got close to in the big leagues and someone who I made a major article with. Apart from that there are not too many names I recognize other than Allegiant and Bojo. I do not believe that I ever played for West Kendall and I would love to explore new opportunities by being drafted by such a storied franchise.
Moving on to the Western Conference I could talk about the Calgary Dragons. When I first entered the league they were the elite with xDPark, Jesster, and C00kies (who is one of their current General Manager's). To me, no matter what, I associate the Calgary dragons with greatness and being drafted there would be a dream scenario as in my opinion they are a great organization. They still have xDPark in some form, DollarAndADream, and Jesster in the farm system. Many old names and names for which I am very familiar with. As I seem to be circling back on -- I want to be comfortable with whatever franchise I end up joining as I would rather update for myself then feel bad for others. Updating with friends and competing against them is another story -- being able to try to match the pace of people I know would be fun and bring me back to the S9-12 days.
The Edmonton Blizzard are a team I can only associate with Teztify for some odd reason (and Seth).  There are few names there for which I am familiar with however the history and franchise are aspects for which I am very interested in them. When I first came to the SHL it was apparent to me that the Blizzard were a horrible franchise however things tuned around and that story has resonated with me and gave me a sense of respect for the team. In terms of the team itself it would be interesting for myself to go back to the Blizzard if they were to draft me. My first player (Smirnov Light) won a championship in his final season for the Edmonton Blizzard and thus it would make sense as to why I have a positive sentiment towards the team. Going back to Edmonton would be great and would be nostalgic.
Back to when I was extremely active here I had immense ties to the Los Angeles Panthers organization and I still have an affinity towards them however I do feel bad for all the times I burned them following my very active times in the SHL. Their current General Manager, Wasty, was around when I first left the SHL and the team has been in great hands for what seems like an eternity. Apart from Wasty there are many old names there I recognize such as OTrebor, Smitty, Buster, Ask, and RED. I would feel comfortable and at home as long as I am motivated internally rather than feeling as though my motivation is derived from some external force. I would feel extremely nostalgic, trying to prove myself in the first (and truly only) organization for which I had proved myself thus far in the SHL. Going back to Los Angeles would be an amazing fairy tale type of ending for myself as a user with one final good player in my original spot where I found success.
After the Los Angeles Panthers for me to cover are the Minnesota Chiefs, the franchise where my careers here have practically all gone downhill. The story of me finding redemption from the place I had the most troubles would be unbelievable. I have seen many people clown the General Managers due to their trade with Buffalo however that only makes me slightly wary as they still have the ability to make countless other good moves. Other than WiC and Chris McZerhl there are few people I know there and from what I know I could make an impact their sooner rather than later. I love a challenge and maybe the Chiefs would be the perfect franchise for me to meet that final challenge on the SHL.
The next potential franchise I would like to address is the New Orleans Spector (what type of name is that). Apart from Serpe I do not know too many people there and I am guessing they came into the league at the same time as the Chicago Syndicate. As stated earlier it would be cool to join an organization that is new to me and experience the SHL from a newer angle. Additionally helping form the history of a franchise would be a task which I would enjoy thus the Spector would be a team of interest if they were to draft me.
After the New Orleans Spector are the San Francisco Pride -- a team which I believe had multiple different names and seems to have been geared for success for a long time now. I know the names of both of the General Managers however I am not too familiar with them either thus I cannot say too much about them. On the team they have my S10 draft-mate in Langabeer, they have Lazyeye, and Meurto -- all great people who I know of. I would most likely be a later pick and if I am a steal I would love to be the type of guy who keeps a franchises success going by having great value towards a part of the draft which tends to be more of a crapshoot and help them continue their success.
The second to last team I will cover are the Texas Renegades -- the only team I ever chose in any league as an active Free Agent -- which is a very cool thing to think about given that I started sim leagues in 2012. There are a few usernames I recognize and it is certainly a franchise I would feel comfortable with. It would feel weird to be drafted there as whenever I think about the Renegades I think about Wadey essentially ridding himself of all draft picks. It would be cool to end up on that team as they have great branding and probably great management.
The final team I will cover my potential interest on are the Winnipeg Jets -- an organization which I had very high affinity towards in the beginning of my SHL career due to my fiends who were once on the team. Fever, Bballhandcuff (Cuffy) were all people who were on the Jets which made them a major destination back in the day in my opinion. Apparently Leafs4Ever stepped down which gives it less of an enigma to myself however when reviewing which people they have who I may know, I still have a feeling that I would enjoy Winnipeg. Fever95 is still there, PSanchez is on the team, as is Stamkosfan and MWHazard. Their prospect pool seems very solid and becoming a member of that prospect pool and adding to that depth would be something which I would love to do.

As a whole there is not a single organization for which I do not want to play or prefer not to play for. In terms of my thoughts on the draft itself, its as such. I would be skeptical of myself as a General Manager in this league (other ones I would take myself top 3 easily) however there are certain reasons as to why someone could think positively of myself and project a good career from Leonid Kofix. The first part is that I have been active in completing point tasks, I have a job here, and I am spending the money in my bank account more willingly. I will be looking to building back a major bank account like how I used to have my completing graphics every week that I can (have been away from my photoshop computer the past few weeks) and thus I will not find excuses to not train players like how I did previously.
When it comes down to reasons as to why I am "slacking" compared to my piers it is quite easy to understand why -- I avoided play by plays and post games shows however there in an unreasonable gap which I can explain slightly. I signed up late to control my own destiny in the SMJHL which meant that I missed the interested prospect TPE, mock draft TPE, and subsequently was unaware of the first point task. The combination led to me being extremely far behind compared to my earning actuality. I believe that my pace since re-joining the SHL is high -- albeit not elite -- and that it would be extremely likely for me to outperform my peers early on in terms of earning for those at a similar TPE count. Regardless I am very excited for the draft and to have a player of mine drafted for the first time since October of 2017 (the last time I was not a General Manager and had a player of mine enter any draft that I truly cared about). No matter where I end up I just want to grind and create a player to be proud of for the first time in over thirty SHL seasons. It will be a journey but I hope to find an organization that looks forward to it as much as I do. I look forward to finally righting my wrongs here and creating a truly impactful player.
