Today we want to introduce a fresh face and a new member of the Vancouver Whalers organization.. he went 47th overall at this years SMJHL draft and plays for the Mustangs in the prospect showcase.. we are proud to welcome our guest, #37, Justin Womack!

So lets talk about the day you told your parents you wanted to play hockey, How did they respond?

When I told my parents that I wanted to play hockey, they said "It's a waste of talent like yours". But I proceeded anyhow.

Why did you choose it over any other sport?

Hockey is violent and injuries are prone to anything especially high sticking I found out lol.

What has been the best moment you've had during the prospect showcase so far?

Not really sure but being 3rd on the team in points is awesome.

How excited were you to attend the SMJHL draft?

Very, almost pooped by pants when I got finally picked!

On a scale from 1-10 how happy are you to be part of the Vancouver Whalers? Why?

10, I was hoping for a good SMJHL team and winning isn't as important as camaraderie in the locker room.

Your playing well in the prospect showcase, what are some things you could improve on now before you enter the SMJHL?

How I beat someone up on the ice would be one, another hitting another player so I can take the puck.

Are you friends/Have you chatted with fellow B.C. draftee Björn Leppänen?

I haven't spoken to him a lot but he is a very strong defender for us, thrilled to have another Whaler draftee in the dressing room.

What's something we don't know about you?

I work for the SSI trying to see if anyone has filed a false and daring report. The SSI is trying to crack down on certain people and cancel their SSI if they can't meet certain requirements.
