HELLO ALL AND WELCOME TO SPORTSBEAT FINALS EDITION IM YOUR HOST STAN SAVERN AND WITH ME ALWAYS THE EVER PRESENT GUY JUNKER.
Well Guy we have a lot to get to today the Militia wrapped things up in 5 games and they have really become one heck of a team to play so far this postseason they have won 4 games by one goal and 2 games against Detroit alone in overtime. well Stan its like we talked all year this is a team that is very young there will be ups and downs but it seems everything has gelled at just the right time its a team led by Morris and Boone but they have gotten contributions throughout the lineup and may I say the goaltending of mike hunt just stole the Detroit series how unbelievable was his play. It was downright dirty if you ask me someone needs to charge him with theft after that series even against Halifax he stood on his head its been a total team effort but without the man between the pipes this team would've been at home already. so far Stan there a team that's living on the edge close games performances from people you don't expect but as we have said all year they have Boone and Morris the dynamic duo and I'm telling you know those two are due for a huge series like during the regular season when we would see stretches from them putting on absolute clinics. Well Guy its more than I expected from a team that is starting 14 rookies that's a lot of new faces in the room and to have a chance at the title now I bet this group is having the times of there lives. Well Stan one thing to remember here they have lived on the edge they have been outshot and out special teamed so far this postseason but it just hasn't seemed to matter whether its overtime or down in the series there so resilient its like its a group of kids that just want to go out and play I don't think they can be stopped now they don't want this ride to end. Well now we are going to head over to our militia insider Colby Armstrong, Colby what have you seen from ice level with this team that has made for this impressive run. BOYS its great to hear from you its been some time from down here at my perspective its defiantly the PHIN man this team has rallied around Mr. gold has put a pounding on guys whenever his team has lacked energy and I tell you what he is quite the trash talker every time you think this team is sputtering he mixes it up whether a fight or just jawing guys he lets them hear it constantly my kind of guy. We hear ya Colby he is without a doubt a fan favorite his teammates love him this whole group seriously has done what I thought couldn't be done with this many rookies and we may I stop to say with certainty be on the brink of a dynasty. (COLBY) Well boys that's a iffy word to players you know its kind of like a jinx but it is still fun to see this team with so much of a future ahead of themselves lets also not lose sight they still have to take care of business here against the winner of the other series but I like this teams makeup there 15 round match they wont be knocked out easy there gonna take every shot any opponent gives them and get right back up. (Stan) that they do and they have been a streaky team all year its like I was joking when they back doored there way into the playoffs like they were saving all of there wins for the postseason but hey I look correct at this juncture. (Guy) well boys we are now being joined by the militia GM who needs no introduction the man who goes by FUZZ, FUZZ how are ya. (fuzz) im great guys thanks for having me. ( Guy ) so FUZZ When you assembled this team what did you think you had with this group what were the expectations for this team as a whole did expect this much success? (FUZZ) The roster the current management group inherited was a little lopsided in terms of depth, so the original plan was to get as many young guys as possible and build for the next few seasons. The team started hot and maintained a competitive level all season, so we made a deadline trade to bring in some defensive help and made a push to be in the position we're in now. This season has exceeded expectations for sure but I don't think we're quite done yet. (Guy) Do you feel you can reach this level with this group again next season you are bringing back a solid core. (FUZZ) I know for certain that this group hasn't reached its peak potential yet. Right now though our focus is on the next series and we're just taking a moment to take in the fact that we've made the finals. (GUY) Has this season been fun for you as a gm watching so many players develop and if so out of the group returning who do you think has good shl upside? (FUZZ) This entire season has been one of, if not the most enjoyable for me so far. The management team has been amazing and from the moment we drafted Joseph Weston we were happy with everyone we ended up with. We made some big hits in free agency and its been an absolute pleasure seeing each and every player take strides in their development. I don't think I could single out one person with a high ceiling, as I truly believe each and every active player has the potential to be a star. (Stan) thanks for joining us FUZZ as always its a pleasure. (FUZZ) Thanks guys ill see you next time when we finish this thing off. (Stan) well that's all we have for this edition of sports beat all you minute men out there keep ready and lets bring this thing home!!!!
