Tracking Spreadsheet

Hello All!  We are back again after an extended off-season to bring you the latest in the world of The Hot Potato.  While the off-season was long we were not inactive.  This off-season brought us some substantial improvements in potato tracking technology and we'll be able to supply you with your daily does of Potato action in better ways than ever.  Hang onto your butts!

SMJHL S51 Game 5 - STL @ ANA

SMJHL Game 5 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette @Your Mothers Favorite Goalie
Team: St. Louis Scarecrows
Victim: Ursin Zimmermann @UrsinZ
Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Time: 0:43 of 2nd period
Total possession time:  20:43
Hot po-take-to:  As we come into the season we are picking up right where we left off in Season 50.  Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette has held The Potato longer (by calendar days) than anyone in The Potato's existence and it looks as though The Potato has overstayed it's welcome.  Lespineau-Lebrunette appeared to really want to pass this thing off to someone else and his entire contribution to the first period was two penalities.  He started with a high-stick less than 2 minutes into the season and then followed it 13 minutes later with a slashing call.  Fortunately for the Scarecrows - they were able to keep Anaheim off the board during these penalties but Lespineau-Lebrunette is going to need to really step up his game if he wants to be seen as more than just a goon in this league.  He came back out on his first shift of the second period and set his sights on Ursin Zimmermann.  Immediately after a faceoff Lespineau-Lebrunette came through and hit Zimmermann to pass The Potato over to the Outlaw D-man.  The Potato reporter cheered this move because reporting on such a terribly hard to spell name as Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunette was really becoming a pain.  Do us a favor and please stay away from The Potato for the remainder of the season Lespineau-Lebrunette.

SMJHL Game 5 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Ursin Zimmermann @UrsinZ
Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Victim: N/A
Team: St. Louis Scarecrows
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  41:35
Hot po-take-to:  With his new friend in tow, Ursin got back to his skates and attempted to make the best of his companion.  He was never an aggressive player, but Zimmermann was quick to put The Potato in the face of any opposing player whenever action moved to the boards.  Rather than poking and kicking at the puck, Zimmermann began to rub The Potato in their faces while making kissing sounds.  It was a very odd sight, but it seemed to really put the Scarecrows at a measurable disadvantage.  The players complained to the officials, but no call was made as there is no rule stating that a player may not rub a potato in the face of another player.  Using this to their advantage, Anaheim came back from a 2-0 deficit and won the game in OT.

SMJHL S51 Game 7 - ANA @ ANC

SMJHL Game 7 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Ursin Zimmermann @UrsinZ
Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Victim: N/A
Team: Anchorage Armada
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  1:03:50
Hot po-take-to:  With the success of Potato Face last game - Zimmermann thought today should be no different.  When he took to the ice against Anchorage he went straight to harassing the opponents with The Potato.  While effective, this did seem to create quite the distraction for both teams and neither put up much of a fight in this game.  Ursin was the star of the show, skating around aimlessly with a stiff arm ahead holding The Potato in front as if it was radioactive.  Players scattered as Ursin came near and in his 23 minutes of ice time neither team put a point on the board.  Normal hockey resumed when he was catching his breath on the bench and giving his left arm a rest.  The game was tied 1-1 into overtime and the Outlaws pulled out another win.  Will Anahiem ride The Potato Face to a cup?

SMJHL S51 Game 13 - ANA @ DET

SMJHL Game 13 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Ursin Zimmermann @UrsinZ
Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Victim: Kenny Creller @Mook
Team: Detroit Falcons
Time: 10:39 of 1st period
Total possession time:  10:39
Hot po-take-to:  You know what they say - If it aint broke, don't fix it.  With his gameplan in tact Ursin hit the ice with his arm extended and didn't even bother to bring a stick.  This backfired quickly though when Falcon's center Luke McMaster found the back of the net only 1:31 into the first period.  This seemed to have bothered Zimmermann as he went straight to the bench and had a hushed conversation with The Potato.  Anaheim brought the score to even 7 minutes later and Ursin seemed back on task.  He came out and blocked a few shots and after Kenny Creller made a snide remark he was determined to give him some Potato attention.  As Creller came through the neutral zone Zimmermann charged and hit Creller square in the cheek with The Potato.  However, this collision came with a bit too much force and registered as a hit.  Zimmermann's mistake cost him The Potato as Creller came into possession.

SMJHL Game 13 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Kenny Creller @Mook
Team: Detroit Falcons
Victim: Jequavis Adebayo @-DQ
Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Time: 15:35 of 2nd period
Total possession time:  24:56
Hot po-take-to:  Creller seemed much less excited about his new companion and decided it wasn't in his best interest to keep the spud around.  So spent his next shift looking for an Outlaw to pass it back to.  After evading a number of close hits, he finally caught Jequavis Adebayo with the puck behind the net and delivered a massive check which stunned Adebayo and removed The Potato from his possession.

SMJHL Game 13 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Jequavis Adebayo @-DQ
Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Victim: Zach Magoon @Gooner51
Team: Detroit Falcons
Time: 5:20 of 3rd period
Total possession time:  9:45
Hot po-take-to:  Jequavis had seen first hand the havok that Potato Face can cause to an opponent and took an attempt at the same results.  However, this became problematic as he was a 4th line winger rather than a first pair defenseman and the combination of low ice time and the need to actually control the puck found Adebayo without much of a chance to harass the Falcons.  Rather than hang onto this bad plan he decided to cut his losses and took out Zach Magoon early in the 3rd period so that he can focus on the game again.

SMJHL Game 13 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Zach Magoon @Gooner51
Team: Detroit Falcons
Victim: N/A
Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  14:40
Hot po-take-to:  It may have been a poor choice to pass The Potato to Magoon as he was a dman and is known to be a bit of a goon on the ice.  Having this weapon at his disposal proved valuable to the Falcons and Magoon went out of his way to shove his spud in the face of anyone in reach.  He took it to another level though and began to draw some rather phallic images on The Potato to further intimidate his opponents.  As he chased the Outlaws around the ice he was caught on an open mic taunting players with some rather vulgar statements of what surely can't be repeated in print.  Magoon was rather successful in his taunts and the Falcons got out with a win in regulation.
