The SMJHL Head Office is currently in the process of a complete rules rewrite, but we wanted to clarify one rule as it affects some current players
The rule in question is regarding players who were NOT drafted by an SHL team after their rookie season but are still active in the SMJHL.
We are clarifying which training camp they are able to claim as well as updating the wording for the equipment to personal coaching change
Code:
II.F.2 Any player not drafted to the SHL is not considered a Send-down. They are also not considered a Rookie.
These players may complete SMJHL Personal Coaching, Weekly Training, SHL Point Tasks, and Activity Checks.
They may complete SMJHL Team Training Camp only for their sophomore Season.
Again this is for players who were not drafted into the SHL after their rookie season
They are still eligible to to be drafted in the next SHL draft and would then claim SHL training
