Scouting Report: Peter Mollinek, 16-year-old Right Winger

Height: 6’4”
Weight: 233 lbs

In terms of players with an impressive shot, look no further in the minors than Czechia thank Peter Mollinek, who can tear up nets like no other. His offensive game is built around his imposing accuracy at nearly any distance on the ice. Not only that, he can find lanes easily by reading the play to know where the defense shifts, or use his stickhandling and agility to make room for himself. He can make a pass or do all those things in the offensive zone you want a sniper to do. His speed and balance, and his quick feet make him one of the more elusive players in the neutral zone.

Now, he’s not bad at all the other parts of his game, but it’s important to note that they aren’t notable parts to his game. His defensive aptitude is fine, it’s not a weakness, but it’s not a highlight, he has the ability to make hits, check opponents, block shots, or pokecheck, but he’s gotta practice that side of his game to make an impact. He’s not a liability anywhere, but your shot can’t carry you very far.
