The legend of the man named Sea Jebus.  To really understand this man, like I believe I have come to know.  You need to take the nicest most compassionate person you know and multiply that by 50.  He cares so much about the team, the people around him and wants to carry the weight of their success and failure on his shoulders.  That is why he is the perfect goalie.  He does everything he can to help a team win from the one position that can influence and entire game.  Unfortunately I was only able to spend one season with this truly great man, but let's look at his impact on the ice.

Sea Jebus broke into league back in season 67.  He posted stellar numbers for a rookie.  Through 33 games he managed 11 wins, 15 loses and 5 overtime losses.  While those numbers are rather pedestrian, it is his Goals Against Average and save percentage that stand out.  He played well enough to post a 3.66 GAA and a 0.880 save percentage.  Ok in season 67 not the greatest, but it kept pace with seasoned veteran goalies in the league.

Season 68 Sea Jebus started to come on a little stronger.  Playing 50 games, 19 wins,
25 losses and 4 overtime losses.  Still not living up to his potential, he finished with a 3.84 goals against average and a 0.885 save percentage.  One could argue that Sea Jebus took a step backwards.  Still the Kelowna Knights believed in this goalie.  They knew he could succeed.

They brought in a better backup to give Sea Jebus the proper rest between games.  And made him a mentor.  As a person that wants to help, win, lead, and cares this could have gone poorly.

Instead, he came out of the gates swinging for the Kelowna Knights and for himself.  Sea Jebus in season 69 only played 37 games, what he accomplished was outstanding!  He finally finished with a plus 500 record.  Winning 27 games, only suffering 8 losses and 2 overtime losses.  He finished the season with a 2.07 Goals Against Average, and a 0.907 Save Percentage.  He finished second in the league in both those categories and he had 6 shutouts to boot.  This lead to his first league award, warning the  Cedric Robinson Trophy given to top goalie.  Something he earned and deserved.

To finish his SMJHL career in season 70, I wish I could tell you the legend earned a four star cup.  Unfortunately the Kelowna Knights fell short.  Sea Jebus still giving himself to the team took a back seat in the playoffs giving Tibs a chance to shine and get used to playoff hockey for next season.

During the regular season Sea Jebus fought like hell for a grand finally.  He posted a 2.78 Goals Against Average with a 0.905 save percentage.  He finished with
18 wins, 14 losses, and 2 over time losses over 34 games with 3 shutouts.

Never once did he complain, never once asked for more.  Put the team on his back and did everything he could to help them win.  He may never be an SMJHL hall of famer, but he left an impression on me, the Kelowna Knights, and he brings a prestigious award with him where ever he goes.

Good luck to the Man, the Myth, the Legend, good luck Sea Jebus!
