Almost each SMJHL team has played already ten games in the new season. Carolina ''Kraken'' is doing pretty much the same as last season - sitting in the middle of standings and hoping to make a push for a chip. Will it happen? Let's take a look of how Carolina's season is going and how the old ''Krakens'' are performing in the big league - SHL.

Carolina has won five of ten games this regular season. 11 points allow them to sit at 7th position in the league standings. ''Kraken'' is the last team which has a positive scored and allowed goal differential. 7th from 14 teams in the whole league, 4th from seven teams in Pacific conference and 2nd from four teams in Michael Fitted Divis divison. This team is literally screaming: ''We are basically the best mediocre team out there!'' However, only 10 games has been played and it's not even close to the end of the season.

''Kraken'' had multiple losses in off-season. Our biggest loss was center forward Derek Martin, who got called up by Los Angeles ''Panthers'' and is now competing in the big league. Last season he was our leader who collected 82 points (43+39) in regular season. Now he's gone and doing just fine in the big league - ten points (6+4) in just 11 SHL games. We are very happy to see him succeed, but this was a big loss, since he was our leader last season. However, we can't complain, because each SMJHL team is going through similar stuff each season. He has telped his team to win four from 11 games, which allows them to sit in 13th position from 20 SHL teams.

Marton Diehm was a pretty big loss too. He was another center forward which had a big impact on this team last season. He got a total of 56 points (34+22). He was the fourth best player on the team statistics wise. However, he got his chance as well and right now he is fighting for Texas ''Renegades''. His debut in the big league hasn't been that loud and impactful yet. He has three assists in 11 games, but shared third best +/- on his team. His team is just one place behind Derek Martin and his ''Panthers''. Pretty awesome to see our boys competing versus each other as well.

However, we still have Timo Lambert, Johnny Wagner-Svensson and Aumy Junior II. These three boys are still competing in SMJHL and they are doing just fine. FITTED PRIMETIME99 CUDDLES, Filip Svatos and Alexej Kastrba are joining them and these six players are doing an incredible job. They all have at least 10 points this regular season already. ''Krakaen'' is on a pace to have six players with 70 points season! Of course, it probably won't happen, but we are happy to see such a situation this early in S71. Hopefully all these boys will make some things happen and they will have a great season.

''We are having a decent start of the new season. We had our chances and it could've been even better, but we can't just look back and be sad that some games didn't go as we wanted to. We have 56 regular season games left and ''play-offs''. Last season we proved that we can make a push for a chip. We were just a bit short to upset Maine ''Timber'', which won regular season and later on went to the finals. It's all about passion and hard work. I believe we will get in to that top five this regular season and it will be a diferent talk when ''play-offs'' arrive. These boys are ready,'' said Aumy Junior II.

Our biggest weakness hasn't changed. We have three goalies and all of them are inactives with just 155 TPE. We had some hard losses early this season too. 3:6 and 0:6 against ''Berserkers'', 2:7 versus ''Timber''. Maybe that wouldn't happen if we would have at least one solid goalie which can help players on the ice. You can't win a game without scoring a single goal, but it's pretty hard to win it by allowing seven pucks in 60 minutes as well.

However, we have to understand that this is just start of the season too. Our players will get better. Most of them has maxed out builds already, but they have to get some chemistry. It's all about the team and I'm pretty sure that they will sort it all out. Go Carolina!
