Coming into S73 Many have written off Quebec saying things like:

"I don’t think the pieces are in place for this season and may not even next season." and "Depth across the roster is in full rebuild mode"

Which if you believe this or even said this yourself, you've clearly never seen Quebec play and may of even listed one of the team star wingers Céleste "Célly" Desjardins as a bottom pair defencemen. It is true they have many new faces, but alot of those new faces are already bonafide studs based on early pre-season results.

There are many players I could mention as but lets take a look a only a few.
Lets start by taking a look at the Citadelles first selection in the recent draft, Froya "Froyo" Solberg. This small (only 5'7, 154lbs!) Center is the complete package. Some teams scouts doubted that such a small rookie would be able to handle it in the J, but don't let her size trick you into thinking she is weak; She has been seen out lifting fellow draftee Juan Tymer (6'3, 220lbs). Through 7 preseason games she leads the team in points (1G, 8A) while having the third lowest ATOI (17:54) on the team. Dont let the stat line fool you either, she should have even more points because she is normally more of a finisher but has been plagued with a 4.8% shooting percentage. One thing she does need to work on is stay out of the box. Teams have clued into this which is reflected in her team leading (8PIMs).Overall, Froyo has already become a team staple both on the ice with her production and off ice having her character recognized by receiving an 'A'. Keep an eye on the scoring title this year as she has a shot to take it as a rookie.

Speaking of offensive dynamos, another new face Celeste "Celly" Desjardins has been displaying how they earned their nickname. Through 7 preseason games, they have 7 pts (3G, 4A), only being outscored by Froya and established star forward Jeff Hunziker. Besides being one of the leading point scorers, all the coaches agree that they have had the highest average offensive impact on the team (OGR 81) and has had the best preseason of anyone on the team (GR 76).They need to clean up their defensive play a little to truly be elite but after their debut this writer can see many scoring titles in the future.

But the true reason you cant write off Quebec is a man that has been with the team for many years. This man dragged a "Rebuilding" Citadelles team last year to the second round almost single-handedly. This man is the heart and soul of QCC and is evident with him taking all of the new faces under his big owl wing since draft day. This man was unanimously voted Captain by his team because both on and off the ice he exemplifies what it means to be a Citadelle. This man is none other than Net Man.On the Ice he leads by example, as shown in his .910 SV% that he posted in last years playoffs, dragging a weaker Quebec team all the way to the second round. His stout play allows the high flying scoring rookies in-front of him to play an offense first approach because they know if they don't make the play he will be there to stop anything thrown at him. He doesn't get the praise as some goalies, such as Beau Kavanagh or Wayne Holloway, even though he is clearly the best goalie in the league. Everyone loves him so much off the ice as well that rumors are starting to fly that he may have offers to become a GM or a manager at Dennys'.

This year many have written off the Citadelles thinking they will finish 4th in the division. They are fools. For what this team lacks in veterancy, this team makes up for in heart and still and one unified will:
To go to Dennys' as much as possible and to win a cup for their Captain.
#Do it for Net Man.
