Good night, everyone. Name's Thun, I think you may be familiar with the time I tried my hand at doing logos for every international team which was later followed by logos for the juniors tournament as well. I'm very happy that almost all of the logos I made have since been used for the index (the exception is Sweden but the logo they're using is pretty good too, I like it a lot) but there was a change regarding the nations that people get to represent. Austria got pulled off due to reasons I can't recall but I'm willing to wager it's related to a certain someone and they have since been replaced by the French, which I recall being on the vote for expansion but lost out to Switzerland and Japan.

I've also noticed that I'm rather broke for training and whatnot and was also told there was a money pool for people who post media or graphics this month which while I'm not sure of, would probably be very neat indeed so I thought it'd be just the time for someone like me to come along and try doing something new for... well, the new team. Keep in mind I'm not suggesting anyone replace it with mine or anything like that, this is merely for fun and I would like to point that out straight away.

Unlike the last time where I decided to talk about around 8 logos a pop, I can elaborate on what went into this French hockey logo. My original idea was to grab something from the Paris 2024 Olympics logo. Paris has this simple yet gorgeous logo that works well for what it wants to show off: the Olympic flames and Marianne all rolled up into one, hell of an accomplishment if you ask me. I liked the gold they used for the logo and the font felt pretty special so I added both of those in by finding a free version of the font. Psst. London, take notes if you ever try running the Olympic Games again.

What followed that was figuring out what exactly would I put that could represent France. The Eiffel Tower was a bit too obvious but I figured I'd throw it in as opposed to trying to draw a rooster with hockey sticks like the actual French federation did. Instead, I took said sticks and did a little nod to the Three Musketeers pose. You know, the three crossed swords? Well, I couldn't get it to look right with three sticks so instead you have two sticks and the tower forming what I wanted to show. I've also gone and used the national colours to fill the negative spaces as I just couldn't see it looking great with just blue or just red.

Finally, the 2024 Olympics font shows up in what is supposed to be a scarf. Now I think I've seen scarves mostly as a football (or soccer, whichever you prefer) thing but I thought it'd work for hockey just as well and besides, it would be a pretty useful way to get the French flag in somehow. Overall, I think the result turned out a bit more colourful than I had in mind but I don't regret it at all.

It was genuinely fun to sit down and see what I could come up with so hopefully this inspires me to try some more logos down the line. Don't think I can really outdo any of the regular team logos but maybe it might be worth trying it out. No AI, though, wanna see how good I can get. Well, see y'all around, yes?
