A big congratulations to everyone who made the roster this season and we apologise to those we’ve had to cut. For those of you still here, let’s get a little bit more information on who made the cut and why they were selected:

Finland REPRESENTING FINLAND Finland

Axel Hämäläinen - Selected for their fast skating ability and incredible offensive talent, while STL has played Hämäläinen at defense this last season, their shooting accuracy, offensive read and ability to find open ice should make them an offensive dynamo for Team Norden.

Jaromir Jagrbomb - With a decently powerful shot, great two way talent and solid physical ability Jagrbomb was an obvious pick-up for the team. The QCC defenseman may be well on their way to manning the powerplay on Norden.

Simo Jääskeläinen - This Detroit Falcon defenseman is an incredible defensive stalwart with great passing ability to start the offense with a breakout pass. Watch for them to lay the body against the opposition and take the puck off them with great positioning and defensive read.

Artturi Lappalainen - Another defensive stud selected for their ability to look for the breakout pass while playing incredible defense. Watch them put their body on the line with their incredible shot blocking ability.

Ubba Lodbrok - This Anchorage Armada forward may have been coming off of a down year in the SMJHL, but putting up 25 and 39 goals in the last two seasons respectively means Lodbrok knows how to score and Norden could use that valuable experience to inspire some of the other goal scorers selected for the tournament.

Jani Mänty - This Grizzlies’ player was selected for their great overall talent. They don’t lack in any area in particular and are skilled in many. A jack of all trades player who will be able to fit any role they’re put in.

Tanner Pitts - Recognized for their great positioning, mental toughness and ability with pad saves, the Colorado starting goaltender was an obvious choice to pick as one half of the incredible Norden tandem.

Kristian Seppanen - The Malamutes captain will be joining Team Norden as a veteran presence despite not being the oldest on the team. As a fantastic puck moving defenseman with a great two way game and physicality, they will be seen leading the defense for Norden.

Johnny Patey V2 - Selected for their offensive mindset when it comes to defense. Their ability to find open ice, cycle the puck to another player with their ability to read the play will lend well to make sure the offense gets going from the blue line.

Norway REPRESENTING NORWAY Norway

Kenny Omega - This Detroit Falcons player was selected for their impressive all-around skill though mainly for their offensive talent. Capable of shooting with deadly accuracy, finding open ice, puckhandling with great dexterity, making the right pass with the right read of the play there isn’t an aspect lacking to Omega’s offensive game while also having solid defensive numbers.

Frøya Solberg - Another captain in the SMJHL will be joining Team Norden as the captain of the Québec City Citadelles has been selected. Selected for all around great physical stats and goal scoring ability, the Norwegian will hopefully be seen putting pucks in the net.

Sonja Solberg - Selected for their incredible playmaking ability, Sonja, one of the Citadelle’s alternate captains will also be joining Norden. Often the one who drives the offensive play, you’ll see Sonja trying to set up for their team with great passing skills or you’ll see them trying to dismantle the opponent’s plays with their great defensive talent.

Aksel VINSen - Look no further than Aksel VINSen for an offensive dynamo. With incredible acceleration blink and you’ll miss them skating by. Blink in front of their shot and it’ll go in with wicked speed and power. VINSen is no slouch on the defense either. Solid defensive read, hitting, and stickchecking means that VINSen can end a play for either team, and always favourable for their own.

Sweden REPRESENTING SWEDEN Sweden

Dag-Otto Björntjänst - Selected as a faceoff specialist, this Carolina Kraken player will be seen on the faceoff dot winning draws and playing some solid defense. Björntjänst will be a major part of the team’s ability to shut down their opponents and Norden is excited to see what they can do.

Emil Karlsson - Selected for their incredible physicality and two way talent, Emil Karlsson stands as a powerful offensive scoring threat hailing from the Detroit Falcons who can not only score, but bring pucks in deep as their fantastic edgework makes it hard to get them off the puck and their game vision makes sure they always make the right play.

Nick Larsson - This Vancouver Whalers player was selected for their overall offensive talent. Larsson has an incredible puckhandling ability and is able to aim a shot with incredible precision. They also have great skating skills with a good speed, acceleration and balance.

Denebor Milasch - Known for their fantastic control of rebounds, amazing recovery and reflexes as well as being able to get great pad saves and flash the glove, Milasch has made the conversation of who gets to start between them and Tanner Pitts very difficult. One thing is for certain though, the two are going to be an incredible tandem.

I-Stir MyPudding - Norden’s only defenseman not from Finland, MyPudding has been selected because of their elite physical and defensive skills. From their balance and strength to their positioning and stickchecking to even some of their offensive skills such as their puckhandling, there isn’t a single hole in MyPudding’s game.

Florian Söderberg-Motyla - A fantastic faceoff specialist from the Yukon Malamutes, Florian is a big body with one goal: prevent the opposing goalie from being able to see the shot. Capable of laying the body with great hitting and fantastic strength and balance to prevent from being pushed away, this polish player representing sweden is bringing some much needed largeness to the team.

Will Tomlander - Last, but not least is Tomlander the Detroit Falcon drafted 3rd overall in the SHL by Seattle. A quick player with great speed, a good read on the game, but most importantly a shot with deadeye accuracy. Tomlander is going to be scoring goals and making it everyone’s problem. But don’t be fooled, they aren’t a one dimensional scorer as they also have good defensive talent.

And that’s the team! We’ll see you all on the ice. Go Norden Go!!

" Maybe someones er... they don't like me but... because i'm too good, i don't know why. "
