(Thank you @Rtpc31 for helping write. Graders please give Rence 100% of the payout)

The Carolina Kraken is full of Gobbos and Gobblinas. From temp friends, to new EOTTIRDS, to a tough ending of the season. They continued to push and stick together despite all odds and at the end of the day. They went into the locker room with so much love and determination to continue to do better. So with this, I present to you..The S75 KRAKEN AWARDS

Christoph Close Award- Top Forward
This award is presented to the top forward on the team…but this season, we did not just have one good forward…WE HAD A WHOLE LINE. Voted on by their teammates, the famous soup line consisting of Betzee Nickelback (@kahri), Rence Sykut (@Rtpc31) and Cob O’Corn  (@SloppyPainter) will split the Chrisoph Close Award.
Since the beginning of the S74 season, the Carolina first line has looked the same every game. Fittingly,  the voters couldn’t separate the inseparable trio lovingly known as the “Soup Line” when choosing a top forward for this past season. All three have stood out as faces of the franchise over the past two seasons and have put up some of the best numbers of any single line in the SMJHL during that time. The triumvirate has combined for 179 goals, 274 assists, and a jaw dropping 453 points since they were put together two seasons ago.
Starting with Betzee Nickelback, the center, and the base (or broth) of the Soup Line. Her team-leading offensive totals in nearly all statistics show her ever present ability to both finish and facilitate the puck. She was everything and everywhere for this team, sometimes even seemingly appearing out of thin air to bury another goal. Much like there is no soup without a base, there is no Soup Line without her ability to control the game.
On her left flank, one will find Betzee’s S72 class counterpart and the meat and potatoes of the line, Rence Sykut. After an explosive S74 season, Rence saw his production slip in S75, but not his intensity on both sides of the puck. With his team struggling defensively, Rence committed to the defensive side of the ice, while still putting up a respectable, albeit unspectacular 63 points.
Finally, on the right wing, the youngest of the trio, and the starch that holds the Soup Line together, is Cob O’Corn. The sniper from S74 rounded out his game in his third junior season to show a strong playmaking side as well. Cob’s young talent has served as the perfect complement to this line, and his production over the past two seasons should have him chasing several Kraken teams records in his final season as a junior player.
Quilha Agante Award- Top Defenseman
This player was a dynamite on the defensive line. A unanimous winner amongst their teammates was well-deserved. So with that Olivija Agate (@jacobcarson877) will be taking home the Agante with her efforts to be the season's top defensewoman.
The Kraken came into the S75 season having graduated their top pair of defenseman and a desperate need of someone to fill that role if they had aspirations of being competitive. They got just the performance that they needed from second year standout Olivija Agate. While playing over a whopping 23 minutes per game, Agate not only stood out defensively, but also contributed offensively with 11 goals and 33 assists for 44 points. All this while playing against the opponent’s top players. Defensively, Agate was a stalwart with 121 blocked shots, 76 hits, and 51 takeaways which are all impressive numbers, but cannot capture the value of Olivija’s value to the team. She played big minutes on 5on5, power play, and penalty kill, and will only see these numbers increase in the following two seasons of her eligibility as she holds down her rightful spot on the top pair.
Petr Klimek Award-Best Two-Way Player
The Petr Klimek Award is presented to the best Two-Way Player. There was no shock to see this player win unanimously. This player played such an important role and absolutely deserves this…Rence Sykut(@Rtpc31) will be taking home the Klimek for his final season.
Early in the season, with the team struggling to keep the puck out of their own net, the Kraken asked their deep core of forwards to play more responsibly defensively. Answering the bell was the leading scorer from the previous season, Rence Sykut. Seeing his offensive numbers fall from the previous season did not dissuade the top line winger from giving it his all on the defensive side of the puck. He racked up 53 blocked shots, 137 hits, and 33 takeaways while playing against the opposing team’s best players and still managing to flirt with a point per game offensively.
Kurtis Hunter- Team Choice MVP
The Kurtis Hunter Award is presented to the player who was the team choice MVP. From a goblin in the locker room to an important key player on the ice. I am beyond thrilled to be giving this award to no other person than Cob O’Corn (@SloppyPainter)
O’Corn came into the season looking to improve on an absolutely stellar S74 campaign by a second year player which saw him pop off for 26 goals and 42 assists for 68 points. Sure enough, he creamed his previous season’s total with an additional 6 goals scored to put him second on the team with 32. Known for his sniping abilities, O’Corn has also shown off his sweet playmaking abilities with 84 assists over the past two seasons. Furthermore, he added a physical element to his game, turning his opposition into tortillas with a team leading 156 hits. Next season, he looks to build on those impressive numbers to starch himself into the Kraken record books with yet another productive season.
Alonzo Garbonzo Award- Top Rookie
This award is presented to the Top Rookie. Before you ask, no the coaches son will not be winning this award but instead Fraser will be a top contender for they best bench warmer. This seasons top rookie really came in like a full tan just like eottird so congratulations Max Belcher (@xjoverax)
The Kraken came into the S75 season with one of the best rookie classes in the SMJHL and looking for someone to fill holes left by departed defenseman. Stepping up notably in his first season was rookie defenseman Max Belcher who played over 19 minutes per game and racked up 2 goals and 10 assists for 12 points. However, Max’s worth cannot be quantified on the stat sheet as his locker room presence has been as instrumental to the Kraken as his presence on the ice. Max has become the team’s eottird connoisseur and that effect on morale is indispensable especially coming from a rookie. Max truly has a bright future ahead of him.

Michael Fitted Award-Demonstrates what it means to be a Kraken
The Michael Fitted award is given to the player who encompasses what it means to be a Kraken. This is presented to the player who bleeds orange and is a squid in human form. The winner of this award will also be taking home not only the Fitted Award this season but will be awarded the Jordan Nugent Award for Most Dedicated Player and the Slothface Leadership Award.

The old Betzee Nickelback will be packing these in her purse and taking them home.

From the day Betzee put on a Kraken sweater, it was clear that this was going to be her team both on and off the ice. It only took one season for her to earn the A on her chest as assistant captain, which she then held onto for 2 full seasons. This season, her last as a Kraken skater, she emphatically earned the captain’s C on her shoulder and did not disappoint. On the ice, Betzee rode a wave of impressive production during the first half of the season to buoy her team that was struggling defensively. She continued to produce down the stretch and was the definitive offensive leader totalling a team-leading 43 goals and 46 assists for 89 points. An impressive S75 season built on her 3 previous seasons of greatness to leave her squarely in the top 20 all-time Kraken in nearly every offensive category. She graduates to the SHL as the all-time leader in power play points in Kraken history. However, on ice production is only the tip of the iceberg of the leadership and dedication Betzee has provided.
Off the ice, Betzee burst onto the scene in the locker room and immediately made her presence known from Day 1. Whether it be taming goblin teammates, spamming celebratory eottirds, or wiggling off the pains of defeat, Betzee has been a catalyst for locker room discourse and shenanigans her whole career. She has also been active in a variety of roles across the SHL metaverse and an exquisite ambassador for not the Kraken, but the whole of the SHL. While her skater form will be greatly missed, she has left a spiritual successor of her presence in the form of new AGM Suzee Daughtry. This move cements that Betzee’s spirit will live on in the Kraken locker room for many seasons to come.

Cheers to another season. Happy S76 my fellow wigglers <3
