Deep Dive #1 - Aleksandr Iskandrov

SHL GM chigan worl manager
Aleksandr Iskandrov to this day, is my most successful player. I don't think any person would've bet on me surpassing 500 tpe ever, as before this player I was known as a serial IA. My success with Iskandrov started with the player prior to this one, Tokkulu Lakkamaa, who was drafted (almost) last overall in the draft sometime in the s50s, and through that, I built a strong rapport with the members of the Hamilton Steelhawks. It was through this rapport, that allowed me to be drafted in the first round by them when most General Managers at the time told me they'd take me if I had dropped to the second or even third round.
Most General Managers at the time would not have expected me to take the mantle of the Vancouver Whalers (then again, neither did I). My role with the Whalers spurred me on to truly go as far as I could with this player, capping out at almost 1900 tpe. To me personally, it is crazy to see that I earned more TPE on this one player than all my past players combined over 5 years. Iskandrov first started out his journey with the Kelowna Knights. Had the GM at the time stepped down, odds are I would've been still in a management position at Kelowna to this day. My first season with Kelowna was most definitely disappointing. This was before the fourth lines were done away with, which is primarily where I played most of my minutes. I finished that season with 23 points in 66 games played. My following seasons in Vancouver are where my player began to shine, iskandrov doubled his point total the next season with 46 points, and then almost doubled his points AGAIN in the final two seasons with 88 points. That s66 season was my Excalibur season, winning the Ideen Fallah (MVP voted by the awards committee), Jared Hanson (SMJHL points leader), Raymond Lindsay (most outstanding player voted by the players), an Alex Light nomination for most improved, and a 1st all-star team achievement. Moving onto the IIHF, Iskandrov has had some success, but no golds. Several silvers, one with Russia, one with Japan, and a bronze as well. The Hamilton Steelhawks was the first team for me to play on at the SHL level. In s75, I was nominated for the Ron Mexico and Sarmad Khan, MVP awards voted by the committee and players respectively. At the SHL level, my player had 939 points in 792 games. My player at the helm of Hamilton's offense provided triple-digit point totals in 4 seasons, with my peak season being 112 points in s75. Unfortunately, due to certain circumstances, Iskandrov won't be able to reach 1000 regular season points, and at times throughout the season, I have come to regret the decision to retire. However, with the end of the trade deadline, Aleksandr Iskandrov was traded to the San Francisco Pride to finish out his career. Will he be able to cap out his career with a Challenger Cup? Time will tell.
