The Gang Celebrates The Holidays
#1

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – When the buzzer sounded at the last Forge game before the holiday break, players and staff celebrated in the locker room. They exchanged presents, discussed their plans for the holidays, had a few drinks, and then parted ways. Members of the press were rightfully left out of this holiday celebration. One player went so far as saying that we, reporters, are the opposite of jolly and to be avoided this time of year. But you know how we pry, how we squeeze out every ounce out of those players to get our story.

That's how we sent a few reporters to follow around a couple of Forge players to see how they spent the holidays. Their time for quiet and privacy is ours for money and clicks. Here is how the Forge celebrated the holidays once they left the arena.

BASE PACK spent the holidays wisely on his own money making venture. He used the extra free time to visit trading card shops across the country. With a brief case loaded with signed cards 8x10 head shots, and sharpies, he made appearances in one card shop after another. PACK would appear for signings, selfies, and whatever else he could do to make some extra dollars.

This would of course drive customers to the card shops with the prospect of a celebrity being there. It's a welcome boost to profits for card shop owners.

“A kind of event like this really puts Kearney, NE on the map,” said Jack Smith, owner of Great Plains Cards & Collectibles. “BASE PACK's bi-annual visit to our tri-city area quadruples our sales in Q2 and Q4 collectively in our yearly sales.”

“Honestly, I didn't even know who he was. I'm not big on hockey, I didn't know that packs of cards could dress up as a goalie and make the big league,” one attendee in Bellingham, WA said, happily carrying a signed BASE PACK card.

Cale Salad and Nathaniel Barca took their families together to an annual family trip to someplace warm. This year, they chose the warm sunny beaches of Mexico.

Barca hit up some of the cheapest, sleaziest strip clubs while Cale Salad hung back at the resort, aiming to stay out of the limelight.

At press time, our reporter in Mexico was still inside the strip club and could not provide additional reporting on the whereabouts of Cale Salad and Nathaniel Barca. This has prompted another investigation of its own.

Tony Soprano went back to his home in New Jersey for the holidays for some gabagool and bada bing.

“Yo Tony, when did you get so good at hockey,” asked Paulie as cigar smoke filled the air over a game of poker.

Tony also spent the time at home counting his money, feeding the ducks in his backyard, ignoring his mother, and working on his mental health by seeing his therapist.

Leonard Wood visited his family back home in Madison, Wisconsin. He used this time off to rest up and prepare for the rest of the season. He prefers to keep the holidays simple and low key.

But Wood did get some skating in while in Madison. He skated with some local youth teams, showing them a thing or two. He signed some autographs, took some photos, and gave some pointers all in hopes of inspiring the next generation to get involved in the game of hockey.

As for the rest of the Forge, some stayed in Philadelphia and others also left the city to visit their families as well. Coaches have said that once they get back they will be rested and ready to set the league on fire in hopes of getting back to the Challenge Cup Finals.

Single game tickets for the remainder of the year are on sale now! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!
