Donnie Fox- Hey everyone welcome to Cold in the Dyour source for all your Detroit Falcons hockey coverage. We are broadcasting all around the great city of Detroit, from my parents basement, thanks to the miracle of public access television. Im your host Donnie Fox here with my partner in crime slick Nick Harper, whats up slick Nick.

Nick Harper- Its all good D-Fox, its all good!

Donnie Fox- We got a great show tonight. The hot news coming out in the last few days has been that the Detroit Falcons have inked European super star Finn Larsson to a smooth $2,000,000 contract.

Nick Harper- Yo, D-Fox is that the Swedish prick you were talking about?

Donnie Fox- That’s right slick Nick. Finn Larsson was an offensive wizard in Sweden and if his game can translate at all to the North American game then Detroit just got one hell of a player. Finn Larsson is actually going to join us now on the show, we will ask him some questions and then open up the phone lines for you fans. Alright lets bring him down, come on down and meet Detroit Finn.

Finn Larsson- Thanks Donnie, it’s a pleasure to be here your mother basement.

Donnie Fox- Finn, there were some questions as to whether you were going to sign as a free-agent or if you were going to wait until next years NWJHL draft. What made you decide to become a free-agent?

Finn Larsson signs his contract with Detroit

Finn Larsson- I’ve been very interested in joining the NWJHL for a long time now Donnie. Its been a dream of mine to play over here and eventually play in the SHL. I would have loved to have been apart of the entry draft process but ultimately felt like my best option was to get into the NWJHL as soon as possible. I was always taught that there was no substitute for good experience and I think that my game will ultimately be better for come over now. It sucks that I had to miss the draft but I cant wait to get the season started.

Donnie Fox- Now me and my boy slick Nick were hoping and praying that you would sign with big D. What was it in the end that made you want to come here? Did you have offers from other teams?

Finn Larsson- Well they were the first to offer me a contract but there were a few others who gave me offers as well. There is a lot to love about Detroit. It’s a great city, the Falcons have a long history of success and have won many championships, so I felt that that could really help my playing career. There very well coached, have a strong ownership, a great fan base and have a lot of great players. Top to bottom they are just one of the best franchises around. I’m obviously grateful to the other franchises for giving me an opportunity but in the end, Detroit was just the best available option for me.

Donnie Fox- Now I think what were all excited about is seeing you center two of the teams top drafts picks. How do you feel about playing with Brandon Donini and Kaspar Abraham?

Finn Larsson- Im obviously very excited. Brandon Donini is a fantastic winger, I think he was the highest rated offensive player in the draft this year. He is very athletic and skilled and know how to find the back of the net. Im definetly looking forward to playing with him. I think we can help maximize each others potential. Kaspar Abraham is another very skill winger and a top 10 pick. He has all the tools that a player could want and really compliment Donini nicely. I think that I can really give this line the playmaker they need to really put this group over the edge. I think the three of us might make up the most dynamic line in the NWJHL and the skies the limit as far as what we can accomplish. I cant wait to get on the ice with these guys.

Donnie Fox- Have you met any of your future teammates yet?

Finn Larsson- I haven’t met any of them yet. I still am waiting to cleared into the locker room. Once that happens ill join the team, meet some of the guys and start practicing with the team. I did get a few texts from some of the guys though when I was in the process of deciding where to sign. Both Donini and Abraham texted me and let me know that they wanted me to join the team. It was great to hear from them and get there support so I think we will gel quick as a unit.

Donnie Fox- Will you be ready to go for the first game of the season?

Finn Larsson- That’s my goal. Obviously its hard to say since I haven’t been able to practice with the team yet but my goal is play as soon as possible. There will be a gelling period but I think im coming in early enough so that I wont be to far behind.

Donnie Fox- How are you adjusting to the city so far? Do you have a place yet or still trying to get settled?

Finn Larsson- Im doing ok. Im still trying to get all my things shipped to Detroit. Its been a hectic few days but im adjusting ok. I bought a small apartment close to the arena and im starting to learn some of the local hangouts. Detroit is a great city and im happy to be hear.

Larsson brings more firepower to a stacked Detroit offense

Donnie Fox- I think my main man slick Nick has a question for you so we’ll go to him.

Nick Harper- Ya, I got a question. Hey, do bitches in Sweden really be lookin as fly as they do in movies?

Finn Larsson- Haha, yea I love the Swedish bitches. They really are that fly.

Nick Harper- TIGHT!!!

Donnie Fox- Alright were going to go to the phone lines. Hey caller, your on “Cold in the D.” Do you have a question for Finn?

Caller 1- Yea, hi Finn, glad you decided to sign with Detroit. I watched the Olympics this past year, and with you being from Sweden and all, I was wondering if planned on playing for the Swedish team in the next winter Olympics.

Finn Larsson- Yea, that has long been a dream of mine. I think for most players the opportunity to represent your country on a stage like the Olympics is such a great honor. The Swedish team didn’t fair to well last year but I hope to train hard, gain experience and hopefully represent my country in a few years. Yes caller, I would love the opportunity to do that.

Donnie Fox- Thanks caller, great question. Alright our next caller is coming on now. Thanks caller, your on “Cold in the D.” Whats your question?

Caller 2- Hey Finn. I had the opportunity to see you play a few times in Sweden and im excited what you can bring to this team as far as offense goes. I have concerns about your defensive game though. Your not a very physical player and was wondering how you expect to change that coming to North America?

Finn Larsson- I’ve been called out for my defensive skill in the past, and am aware of my short comings caller. I think that Detroit is known for having tough players and I think that this coaching staff has a lot to do with it. I think that a lot of my issues can corrected by good coaching and its only a matter of time before that part of my game improves.

Donnie Fox- Well that’s all the time we have today. I want to thank my guest Finn Larsson, newest member of the Detroit Falcons. Welcome to big D Finn. Thanks to my boy slick Nick, this is Donnie Fox thanks for watching “Cold in the D!”
