Boston, MA -- We haven't heard much about Robin Karlsson in a long while. The last time he played, he only produced 4 points in 47 games, and in Season 14, he was cut from the team, not playing a single minute on ice. Now, after a one-year deal with the New England Wolfpack, Karlsson says that he's ready to return.
But, why did anyone want Karlsson in the first place? ![]() Karlsson leads warm-ups this morning, where Pre-Season is about to start "I think we took a shot at him because we know what he can do as a player. He's got the ability to be good, now he needs to focus on the fundamentals" Wolpack General Manager Erik Chisling chipped in. Karlsson was signed to a one year deal worth $4 Million, which sounds unheard of for a forward of Karlsson's caliber. "Trust me, there was more money thrown around." Karlsson said, as 5 teams were interested in him. As the pre-season starts, many are anticipating a good season in New England, but doubt that Karlsson will be in top form. "I think taking a season off helped me" said Karlsson. The 4-year player believes that taking Season 14 off prepared him to be a better player. "I did play poorly in Season 13. And, I decided to think about things after I was cut." "He looks good, which is the first step for a lot of guys." Capitan Alexey Kovalenko spoke highly of Karlsson, thinking he can breakout this season, "he looks way more dedicated than he did before. I can see that he wants to play as much as he can and for long as he can." Many can question Karlsson's ability to be a helpful player in New England, but a lot of people are saying that he's better than ever. ![]() Registered S42 Challenge Cup Champion |
