Devils Extend Schneider

Hell fucking yes, he had such great numbers this year and i'm stoked that he's gonna be a Devil for a very long time. 7 Years, $6M AAV, that's great deal if you ask me

Great signing, if he proves he can do it again. Should he regress at all, it's most certainly going to raise some serious concerns. I think he'll do just fine however :D

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

I think the Devils are in the worst condition of any team in the league. They don't have players that they can sell for youth and they don't have the prospect pool to recover from the lack of current talent (especially forwards). There is also financial insecurity around the team.

That said, Schneider has played well so far, but this will be his first season as a clear cut starter. If he does extremely well he may be able to get the Devils into the playoffs.

Yeah but when one player becomes a coward and bolts, that's what happens. They have to re-stock the cupboard. They still have some great prospects for the future though. Maybe you are unaware of the whole organizational build they try for and do. It's worked before with Lou. How many current GM's have 3 Stanley Cups?

I think it's a solid signing. 6 Million may look huge now but that salary cup goes up and Cory will improve. He had no goal support.

Their d prospects is probably top five- top ten in the league. Forwards are lacking but boucher,Matteau seem like good guys though. Boucher could be a 30 goal guy but probably end up a 20 goal scorer awhile Matteau is a gritty defensive forward that pots in 15 goals a year.

Then after Matteau scores those 15 goals Toronto will offer him a 8 year 80 million dollar contract.

Financial insecurity? What are you talking about? Devils got new owners last year that are absolutely loaded and we also have partnerships that bring in a lot of money for the organization.

Also I don't see how we're in the worst spot in the league, we have one of the best pools of defense in the league and a franchise caliber goaltender, and our forwards over the next few years will be led by Henrique, Zajac, Cammalleri, Boucher, and Matteau, Quenneville may also turn into a good player someday. NJ could very well be a playoff team this year if Schneider just does his thing and we get goal scoring from our additions up front.
