Bryan Bickell on waivers :o

Are waivers like they used to be where the team who placed them on waivers has to pay 50% of their salary? Or did that change? I can't remember. If it's still the case I would like the Ducks to place a claim on him, could see him being pissed and want to prove something against Chicago (If we were to meet them in the playoffs)

No, I don't think there's any salary component to waivers anymore. So a team picking him up would have his whole salary - that's why Mike Richards could pass through fairly easily last season.

nvm found out.

Re-entry waivers had existed under the 2005 CBA, under which if a player cleared waivers and was sent down to the minors, and then recalled during the season, and his salary was more than $105,000 in the AHL (essentially, any player not on an entry-level or two-way contract), he was subject to re-entry waivers where if a team claimed him they are only responsible for half the salary for the remainder of the contract. Re-entry waivers were eliminated in the 2013 CBA.
