1st Period
Really slow and boring start of the game for the whole first period. Montreal Militia really has nothing to prove as they are already in an overwhelming lead in their conference. Vancouver Whalers had more on stake, so they took the game in their own hands. But they couldn't do anything more than shooting more than Militia, as Matt Lewis-Flood guards the net like he does all season and all of Montreal defenseman are just with huge skill. Although Richard Douglas didn't quite like the situation with Whalers playing with too much puck and got 2 minutes for roughing. But the time was too little for Vancouver to capitalise and the period ends in a scoreless tie and Montreal starting 2nd period shorthanded. Shots on goal 7 for Vancouver against 3 for Montreal.

2nd Period
Second period completely around, Montreal taking the wheel and scoring early second period opener, Shane Gagner with a precise shot 3 minutes in the period, Dane Rowe and Conall Macleod with assists. Two minutes later Raven Silverwing got 2 minutes in the sin bin for holding, but no luck for Whalers second powerplay either. Montreal kept their earlier pace and continued to bombard Triforce Links net, but with no luck. 20 seconds before the end of the period Strawberry Blake got 2 minutes for high sticking, but no powerplay goal for Militia. Montreal dominated with 10 shots on goal, while Whalers only had 4, almost the opposite of first period.

Third Period
Third period of course was the most interesting one. Both teams going after the win, especially motivated were Whalers, who were trailing by one and needed that win, not only for points, but for morale boost before the play-offs. Who wouldn't be pumped up after wining the leagues leader. Eric Verstappen tied the game 3 minutes in the period, with Lars Dahlstrom and Patrick Kilgore getting the assists. Almost two minutes later Levi Kubrak moved Whalers up in front with Yakov Pinehero and Bernie Sanders getting assist points. Montreal started to play more aggressively, but there was a price to pay. Two more penalties in the other half of period didn't give them a chance to get back that one goal, but Whalers couldn't capitalise either. Game ended with Vancouver getting the W 2-1, shots on goal tied at 13 this period.

1st Period
Both teams in need of points, every win matters, so game starts intense. Players want to carry their team past the opponent. Despite that, the most interesting parts of the whole period happened with a 10 second interval. First, Latvian defenseman Edvīns Bērziņš opened the result with a precise shot. Assists went to Maximus Sarone and Erik Muller. Then 10 seconds later Falcons captain Gunnar Rask moves Detroit up in front doubling the lead, 2-0. Assists this time to Prince Daniel James and William Fedorov. After the cold shower for Colorado, they woke up and started to put more aggression in their game, but that only resulted in two unneeded penalties for Antoine Vietto and Sim Browski. But Detroit couldn't capitalise and no more goals were scored this period. Shots 6 for Detroit against 5 for Colorado.

2nd Period
It could look like Detroit Falcons are on the run for tying the game, because of the pressure they continued to put on Mammoths net. Colorado looked impotent on offense, couldn't do a thing, in fact, only had 4 shots on goal but Falcons managed to shot 13 times! The reason for Detroit continuation of dominating the game may be the fact, that Sim Browski got his second penalty only 20 seconds in the period. Most interesting part of the period was almost 5 minutes in the period, when Gunnar Rask got into a fight with Charlie Conway. While the fight ended in draw, Rask got ejected from game. But despite Detroits leader ejection, Mammoths still couldn't do a thing against Falcons tough defense.

Third Period
In third period Falcons decided to slow down the pace and focus on protecting the net. Which they did pretty well. Instead of threats on their net, Edvīns Bērziņš put another one in Triforce Link's net, with Kalid Dermot and Erik Muller getting assists. But one minute later Colorado managed to get their first and only goal of the game. Antoine Vietto with a fantastic wrist shot, Charlie Conway with assist. No penalties this period really showed that this game result was already clear to both teams for the most of the period. Colorado had 5 shots on goal this period, only 14 total in game, while Detroit got 4 this period and 23 in game. End result 3-1, W for Detroit Falcons.
