<div align="center"> The Season 29 SHL Entry Draft Revisited
</div> Hi All, It’s been awhile since I wrote anything, so I thought I would write a quick article to get into it again about the SHL Season 29 draft and how everyone is doing now. First, for those that don’t remember, below is the list of players and where they were actually drafted back in Season 29 at the Entry Draft, in the next list, I have an “adjusted†draft order (teams removed) based on the players current TPE values (according to their roster page). I will then do a little synopsis on the top 5 TPE earners and overall busts and draft pick steals. In general the Season 29 draft was pretty weak for “top end†talent with only 5 players eclipsing the 1000 TPE plateau at this stage of their career, with one other player very close, however there was several others that make very serviceable bottom 6 players. Season 29 - Original Draft Round 1 1. Buffalo Stampede - Nicolas Winter 2. Portland Admirals - FORFEITED 3. Manhattan Rage - Hans Moleman 4. Los Angeles Panthers (via Minnesota Chiefs) - Sebastian Strange 5. Los Angeles Panthers - Leif De Bruin 6. Seattle Riot - Harry Hans 7. New England Wolfpack - Mikael Talo 8. Los Angeles Panthers (via Seattle Riot, via Toronto North Stars) - Maximus Sarone 9. Los Angeles Panthers (via Calgary Dragons) - Cleo Green 10. Seattle Riot (via Los Angeles Panthers, via Texas Renegades) - Ilmari Määttä 11. Hamilton Steelhawks - Alex Berkis 12. Winnipeg Jets - Fedor Gregorovitch Shirobokov 13. Calgary Dragons (via West Kendall Platoon) - Richard C. Hocolate 14. Hamilton Steelhawks (via Minnesota Chiefs, via Edmonton Blizzard) - Casper Jakobsson Round 2 15. Buffalo Stampede - Dos Diablo 16. Portland Admirals - Barak Obrana 17. Buffalo Stampede (via Manhattan Rage) - EdvÄ«ns BÄ“rziņš 18. Seattle Riot (via Minnesota Chiefs) - Jack Dabkowski 19. Calgary Dragons (via Los Angeles Panthers) - KristiÄns RozentÄls 20. Seattle Riot – Gorlab – Could not find on a SHL Roster 21. Winnipeg Jets (via New England Wolfpack) - Michael McHale 22. Toronto North Stars - Triforce Link 23. Calgary Dragons - Darian Tupper 24. New England Wolfpack (via Texas Renegades) - Aronne Zamloch 25. Buffalo Stampede (via Hamilton Steelhawks) - Lenard Ramsey 26. Winnipeg Jets - Patriks Porzingis 27. Buffalo Stampede (via West Kendall Platoon) - Stinkywink DuPooPoo 28. Edmonton Blizzard - PASS Round 3 29. Minnesota Chiefs (via Buffalo Stampede) - Sivy McSieve 30. Portland Admirals - PASS 31. Manhattan Rage - PASS 32. Minnesota Chiefs - Alessandro Fondente 33. Los Angeles Panthers - Felix Herzog (GM) 34. Seattle Riot - PASS 35. New England Wolfpack - PASS 36. Toronto North Stars - Randolph Grey 37. Calgary Dragons - PASS 38. Winnipeg Jets (via Texas Renegades) - PASS 39. Hamilton Steelhawks - PASS 40. Buffalo Stampede (via Winnipeg Jets) - Sergei Fedorin 41. West Kendall Platoon - N/A 42. Portland Admirals (via Edmonton Blizzard) - N/A Round 4 43. Buffalo Stampede - Casey Holmes (GM) 44. Portland Admirals - N/A 45. Manhattan Rage - N/A 46. Minnesota Chiefs - N/A 47. Los Angeles Panthers - N/A 48. Seattle Riot - N/A 49. New England Wolfpack - N/A 50. Toronto North Stars - N/A 51. Calgary Dragons - N/A 52. Texas Renegades - N/A 53. Hamilton Steelhawks - N/A 54. West Kendall Platoon (via Winnipeg Jets) - N/A 55. West Kendall Platoon - N/A 56. Edmonton Blizzard - N/A New Order based on TPE: 1. Sebastian Strange – 1424 TPE 2. Nicholas Winter – 1160 TPE 3. Harry Hans – 1135 TPE 4. Felix Herzog – 1086 TPE 5. Casey Holmes – 1016 TPE 6. Mikael Talo – 915 TPE 7. Richard C. Hocolate – 762 TPE 8. Casper Jakobsson – 660 TPE 9. Maximus Sarone – 615 TPE 10. Hans Moleman – 566 TPE 11. Barak Obrana – 556 TPE 12. Alex Berkis – 527 TPE 13. Ilmari Määttä – 391 TPE 14. Cleo Green – 275 TPE 15. Jack Dabkowski – 229 TPE 16. Stinkywink DuPooPoo – 216 TPE Note: Many players I could not find on an SHL roster, so I have left them off this list presuming they have retired. <b><div align="center">Season 29’s Top 5 Draftee’s:</div></b> <div align="center"></div> 1 – Sebastian Strange – 1424 TPE Sebastian was picked 4th over in the Season 29 Draft and comes in with a whopping 250 more TPE then the next closed Season 29 draftee. In fact Sebastian was only acquired by Los Angeles in the draft due to a trade that was made with the original team that held this pick, the Minnesota Chiefs. After a breakout season back in S32, registering 51 points in 50 games, Sebastian trailed off, but seems to be getting his groove on again, as he currently sits with 43 points in 44 games. Another interesting fact is that 3 of the 5 top TPE earners in this draft year all hailed from the SMJHL St. Louis Scarecrows (Sebastian Strange, Harry Hans and Casey Holmes). <div align="center"></div> 2 – Nicholas Winter – 1160 TPE Nicholas was 1st overall selection by the Buffalo Stampede and he has not disappointed with the second highest TPE in this draft class and steadily updating and producing on the ice. Nicholas has a hall of fame pedigree which helps him understand what it takes to be successful in the SHL. <div align="center"></div> 3 – Harry Hans – 1135 TPE Harry Hans was the second Scarecrow on our top 10 list and was drafted by Seattle, but then later traded to Manhattan in the legendary McZ deal. Harry has performed well on the ice, putting up some big numbers and with McZ now gone, it will be interesting to see if he can continue to do so. The one downside is Harry has not updated since April, making me think he has reached his plateau, which is unfortunate. <div align="center"></div> 4 – Felix Herzog – 1086 TPE GM of the Los Angeles Panthers, Felix has mainly played a bottom 6 role on the Panthers, due to the log jam in the top 6, but is having a solid season this year with 32 points in 44 games with 17 minutes of ice time and as a result have caught the coaches eye and soon will break into the top 6. <div align="center"></div> 5 – Casey Holmes – 1016 TPE Former Buffalo GM, Casey Holmes was the third St. Louis Scarecrow in the top 5 and was the last selection in the Season 29 draft, but has proven to be a stalwart asset for the Stampede as he looks to get them into the playoffs this season. Honorable Mention – Mikael Talo – 915 TPE Top Draft Steals – Felix Herzog and Casey Holmes, both GM’s at the time were steals on their respective team, being selected in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Even though this is an automatic selection, you never know if anyone will stick around, even GM’s, so that fact that both these two have over 1000 TPE is great value for when they were selected. Top Draft Bust – To be honest there were several, but the one that stands out the most is Leif De Bruin, who does not appear to be on any SHL Roster and was selected 5th overall, just one spot behind Sebastian Strange. ~1200 Words

I thought GM's were supposed to use a second rounder on themselves? Dafuq
Edit: Never mind, that's for co-GM's, but it still says GM players don't use a pick which raises more questions.....unless they weren't GM at the time.

I've always hated the fact that GM players were never considered "part of their draft class" since they were auto' I decided to use my latest pick for my player rather than Pass.
