Andrew Martin Post Game Interview

All-Star Committee NOT TUMMY The Colorado Raptors just finished the pre-season and played your first two games of the regular season, how do you guys feel?
Well obviously its not the kind of success that you hope to have, you never wanna have a losing record but it was what we were expecting; Our team consists of a lot of rookies so the common consensus is that we won't have the best record this season, but next season we will hit it out of the park. In fact, we can already see improvements being made in the regular season compared to the post season just due to the fact that both games were pretty close and not blowouts like they were in the pre-season. So I guess moving forward the general consensus in the locker room is confident in the future.
How do you feel about your particular performance in your games thusfar?
To be brutally honest I don't feel great about them. I don't like to think that I have been too much of a bum on the ice, but you wouldn't be able to tell otherwise with a 2 goal, 8 points total in 50 games pre-season it kind of gets you a little down on the dumps. And my play hasn't improved in the few games we've played so far, but I'm hoping its just too early to tell. On the bright side, I do have one of the best face-off percentages in the league right now which isn't much but is a confidence boost none-the-less. Even with my weak play I have been working with my coaches to try and improve the parts of my game that are weak, mainly my strength and defensive capabilities.
Defenseman Troy McClure III was recently elected captain with an overwhelming vote from the team, a little more insight into this decision?
Yeah so Troy has been nothing less than a leader in the locker room, even more so after the trading of team veterans Cash Savage and Kevin Maddox welcoming the oncoming rookies and showing all of the rookies the ropes of the league. Combine that with his incredible play in the pre-season with an impressive 8 goals and 29 assists for 37 points only seconded by Sachimo Zoidberg Jr.'s 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points, who was named the assistant captain.
Has anyone else stood out to you as doing a good job?
Our first line has been exceptional in scoring points, particularly Gvidas Kazlauskas, who did an incredible job with 17 goals 15 assists as our best forward for 32 points, and of course some of the credit goes to his line mates Nate Forseberg and Sulak O'Hritea.
Thanks for the interview Andrwe, and good luck on the ice.
