The Pride have nosed divided in the standings over the last two blocks, along with Leshaun’s production. The Pride have gone 1-7-2 in the last stretch, grabbing 4 of a possible 20 points. King went from scoring at a 40 point pace over the first 35 games of the season (which included a rough 4 its in 10 game start) to scoring at 25 point pace over the last 10 games. The shots have been coming, but the scoring chances have not. Leshaun: I can’t complain about 18 shots on net in a 5 game block, that’s 3.6 shots per game, and even at a 10% shooting percentage thats an 18 goal season. So I’ll take that any day. But I do need to start capitalizing on these situation. Next season without Kelly Rivet the team will need a new playmaker on the top line, while it was formerly thought that that would be Luke Thomason, it turns out Luke has been emerging as more of a sniper, so the duo of King and Luke @“luketd” will need a pass first winger to there side. The team has some very talented prospects available, with Goku Muerto @“Muerto”, Richard Mectalf Jr. @“lazyeye” and Steven Moyer @“CanadianDuck” all playmaker which will be making the jump. The question of fit begins to emerge though and who is ready to join an SHL 1st line. Goku and Moyer are both centres and will likely being taking the positions down the middle. Which leaves Richard as an option for the first line, but with Leshaun (665 TPE) and Luke (615 TPE) still developing, adding in another player who still has a lot of room to grow with Richard (501 TPE) might create two vulnerable of a line to survive as a first line in the very deep Western Conference. A natural solution will be adding in a veteran on a short term deal who would thrive in the opportunity on playing on the teams top line. A playmaking winger with some grit to their game would be the ideal fit. With a full off-season of training Leshaun and Luke should be able to take big steps in there game (Say 700 and 750 TPE) and given a veteran with a bit more experience (900-1000 TPE) they trio should be able to hold their own in the West. Leshaun: There’s a lot of great UFA’s coming up this off-season, I can’t say names or it be tampering, but I think some of them know who they are and know that the Pride has an opportunity for them. TSN: The Pride wrap up there season with games against Seattle, Hamilton, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Calgary. Having jumped a bit into the future we know King goes pointless in the Seattle game. So with 4 games left and 13 goals, 21 assists and 34 points to your name this season, whats your realistic goal to end the year. Leshaun: Honestly, given how things have gone recently, picking up a point in these last four games to hit 35 would be cool, even number and a solid rookie campaign. Being a bit more ambitious maybe I could pick up a couple goals and end the season with 15 goals. ![]() ![]() |
