Here we go boys, another walk down memory lane. Wish I could show who actually gets these goals but I may do something new and add in the Top 3 scorers from each team. What can I say, could be cool, and also more money for me so win for me and a win for y'all. Important change to note, I don't for the life of me know why, and maybe some older members can talk about it, but the league decided to do a 52 game schedule. Anyway, onto the show.

Western Standings:

Welp this looks familiar, Texas is on top as the defending champs, rocking 72 points and a +40 goal diff. Lead by Jordan Hall's 67 points and Jordin FourFour's .917 SV% and a 2.20 GAA. This team looks ready to roll. Hot on their heels is the Seattle Riot with 71 points and a +30 goal diff. They score by committee but Chris McZehrl leads the way with 56 points and Dustin Rose mans the crease with a .913 SV% and a 2.11 GAA. Could easily challenge Texas for the right for the Challenge Cup. To Canada next as the Edmonton Blizzard sit in 3rd with 60 points and, somehow, a negative goal diff. Kyle Keenan leads their scoring with 53 points and Jakub Aittokallio minds the net with a 2.52 GAA and a .906 SV%. Safe to say, not the best numbers. This team as a whole could shock the blizzard if they meet. Rounding out the playoff spots are the Los Angeles Panthers. Sitting 1 point back of the Blizzard with 59 and a better goal diff. Brian Morley leads the way with 46 points and props to rookie Adrian Thomaz and his 42 being 2nd on the team. Jackson Weekes posted a 2.53 GAA and a .904 SV% hopefully he can only go up. The Calgary Dragons just miss out due to regulation wins being 20 to LA's 21. 59 points and the 3rd best goal diff in the Conference means they should be playoff bound by next season. Roberts Birkavs and a young Esa Anrikkanen lead the group in scoring with 42 and 41 points respectively. Mike Verminski may have really struggled as well posting a 2.59 GAA and a .900 SV%. Finally Winnipeg is at the bottom with 50 points and a goal diff of -14. Vidrik Onoprienko leads the Chairforce with 45 points and Lauris Prikulis got shelled in net putting up a 2.74 GAA but a .912 SV% good for 3rd in the league. If the rest of the team picks up they could be strong.

Times are a changing in the East. New England is on top with 70 points but are fairly even with only a +4 goal diff. Carter O'Callahan is rocking 59 points to lead the wolfpack but they may be having trouble in goal as Jermaine Tennyson put up a 2.72 GAA and an appalling .895 SV% a trade for a QUALITY netminder would put this team over the top, for now, I expect this team to be shocked in either rounds 1 or 2. The Steelhawks look like the real beast in the east. 63 points is rock solid and a +20 goal diff as well as the most goals for. Magnus Jakobsen leads the way with 58 points. Edwin Ask is a concern in net as his numbers aren't great. 2.85 GAA and a .890 SV% is the worst we have found yet and is WAY below average. Toronto slides into 3rd and the Jets must be kicking themselves as I am sure this spot could have been theirs's. 50 points and a sub .500 record isn't going to get them far. -16 Goal diff doesn't look good either but Adam Kylrad put up 49 points. Dymo Ranjan really struggled with a 2.91 GAA and a SV% of .884, ouch, this team will not go far come playoff time. West Kendal tied the Stars with 50 points and a -14 goal diff. Brandon Cant with the trap name had 44 points, most by a Platoon man, though Ivo Willems arrived from the Steelhawks and played 33 games, adding 33 points to his previous 16 to have the "Official lead at 49 points. Colin Schmidt was comparatively respectable with a 2.61 GAA and a .912 SV% Clamp down on the shots and these guys could be Dark Horses. RIGHT behind them is the Rage with 49 points. -18 Goal diff shows where the teams are starting to struggle. Daniel Merica had 53 points for a roaring season and C.J. James tried to keep them in it most nights with a 2.57 GAA and a .909 SV% round about league average for both. Finally the Chiefs. Well they doubled their wins from last season with 16 and had 38 points. Also they managed 109 goals WAY up from the 78 last season as well. -59 goal diff is bad but they are on the way up. Rufus Reinhart and Pedro Sarantez both had 41 points to lead these guys and Aboud Chamas got killed in net. 3.16 GAA and a .874 SV% is harsh.

Other interesting stats:
Logan Valentine ( Platoon

) didn't leave a lot of love with 169 pims, most this year.
Roy Razin ( Rage

) must not have enjoyed making fun of people having to block 108 shots.
Griffin Simons ( Steelhawks

) went 12-35 for 47 points as a rookie. He is going to kill it.
Lance Uppercut ( Jets

) threw his fists around but didn't win many. 10 contests shows he is willing to go.

Playoff time baby Round 1:

VS

Game 1 is in Texas as it is a show down between the defending champions and a new challenger. The Renes wouldn't waste any time getting into game form with a solid 2-0 shutout over the Panthers. The FourFour force field is all systems go. Game 2 would be a little closer as LA would get 2 past FourFour. But Texas was ready as they put up 3 and held the lead. Off to Los Angeles for game 3 and Texas is up 2-0 in the series. The Panthers cannot afford to go down 3-0 in this series or else this run will be a forgone conclusion. However with the Routine in place and FourFour unwilling to let in anything more than 1 goal per game on average, Texas cruised to a 3-1 win and a 3-0 series lead. Could they get the sweep? Come find out here with game 4. The Los Angeles Panthers need a win or they go home empty handed. Texas probably want this one over with since they can smell blood. Unfortunately for the Renegades it seems like FourFour took the night off and hand LA the 5-3 victory. Back in rugged old Texas for game 5, a thoughoughly embarrassed defending champion squad is going to be hopping mad after letting a game slip. What is the best revenge? A series ending win. 6-4 isn't great but the Renes will take it and the series 4-1.

Riot

VS

A meeting farther north as Seattle and Edmonton play away for a chance to move on. Game 1 is in Seattle and what a great game it was. Back and forth with plenty of chances and a 2-2 tie after 60 would send her to overtime. The Blizz would pick up the win in the extra frame and get off to a good start 1-0 in the series. Game two and home ice advantage is Edmonton's. With both teams so close together you know they are pouring over footage of game 1 and even more to sniff out an advantage. Seems like the Riot figured it out first as they close it down 2-0 and even the series up. Moving to Canada for game 3, both teams want to win. This time it was all Edmonton as they kill the Riot 6-1 and lead the series again 2-1. Game 4 starts now and the Blizzard need to learn to keep a series lead. Losing 3-1 as their offense continues to be bipolar. Game 5 is pivotal as the series is tied at 2 apiece. Just like games 1 and 3, the Blizzard are in command, posting a 3-0 shutout and a strangle hold on it 3 games to 2. Riot need a win to survive here in game 6 at home. Logic dictates that they will get it, but can a team really come back from not 1, not 2, but 3?! games behind? 2-1 in regulation as both teams check tightly but the Riot prevail and we will get a game 7. Back and for and a fitting end as this one needed overtime as it was tied at 2s. Seattle would get the winner this time and knock off the 3rd seeded Blizzard.

VS

Top seed vs 4th seed again as its New England and West Kendal. Game 1 was like sending in a hunting party for a deer and stumbling on a starving Wolfpack. 5-2 killing to start things off and a 1-0 series lead. Game two was a little more tame but 3-1 for the hounds and a 2-0 lead. Don't wanna go down by three and the Platoon gave it their all, but lose 2-1. Game 4 and sweeps are not allowed, as West Kendal spoils the party with a 3-1 win which i'd be more happy about....if they didn't lose game 5 in a wild, shooting gallery 5-4.

VS

Ah the classic battle of Ontario between these two is always a crowd pleaser, even if the same team usually wins. Game 1 in Hamilton is a 5-3 barn burner but game 2 wasn't so fun. 3-0 for the Steelhawks certainly makes life hard. Game 3 might work out better and it does, Toronto gets their own 5-3 victory and has the momentum carrying them forward. Unfortunately home ice magic wouldn't keep alive as they go down 4-2. Toronto needs to win to stay alive. Series is 3 games to 1 for Hammy and this one would be tight. North Stars would shine bright on the road with a 1-0 shutout. Back home for game 6 and they still need to force a game 7. Safe to say the Stars are in command with a 2-0 win and 120 mins without allowing that goal. Game 7 and you knew Toronto couldn't keep the Steelhawk scorers down forever. Unfortunatly it came crashing down 5-3 as the Hamilton Steelhawks move on to meet the New England Wolfpack.

Round 2, FIGHT!:
Renegades

VS

7 Stunning games started out with the Riot shocking everyone by stealing the first two in Texas. The Renes would take the next 3 however before being forced into a game 7 that they could take 3-2.

Wolfpack

VS

6 games was all it took for us to sort out the East. For every win NEW got, Hammy grabbed two in a row.

Challenge Cup Championship:

VS

Its time for an S20 rematch between the defending champion Texas Renegades and the Hamilton Steelhawks. Last year the final ended in 5 games as Texas had no problem stunning Hamilton. Game 1 in Texas as the Renes only got stronger. However a long game with overtime needed would end 2-1 in favor of the Steelhawks. Game 2 would need overtime as well as the Texas Renegades win 4-3 and knot things up. Things are close and this is some of the best hockey, but Texas takes her 3-2 in regulation and a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 is also in Hamilton and they gotta tie it up. Low scoring, hard working....who am I kidding we know who that benefits. Texas takes it 2-1 and puts themselves close to a back to back. Game 5 and Hamilton needs to stay alive. Shooting gallery as things are tied 5-5 but the Renes just wont go away and down the Steelhawks 6-5 for their second straight cup.

) Turned on God mode with a 1.81 GAA and a .937 SV% but it wasn't enough to get past Seattle.

This year is interesting as it shows a good start and just how long the league can stay the same when building a team.
S22 is coming up not to worry.

This is the only real historical media we have going and i think this series when its all done could be worthy of an add to the SHL history section. (Maybe a new section in that area historial media)

Just wanting to bump this because this is a fantastic series and we need more stuff like this in the league.

Seems fitting the season where Garbanzo starts his SHL career is highlighted right when it is about to end.
