[S46 Draft double media, word count 1061 + research/creating spreadsheet]

The S46 entry draft for the SHL is just around the corner! What an exciting time of year, and to add to that this is one of the biggest draft classes in recent memory. There will be surprises, risers, and droppers.

We have compiled a list of the top TPE leaders over the S46, and adjusted their draft rank based on 4 factors.

1. TPE difference compared to the TPE leader
2. Goal difference compared to the goal leader
3. Assist difference compared to the assist leader
4. Point total difference compared to the point leader

Each Player starts with 100 "Draft Points". Then each factor was subtracted from their draft points giving the final adjusted draft rank.
The top 25 rookie TPE list was obtained from Tracking the S43,44,45,... Classes. I also added 2 players from players to make up for the fact that their was 2 goalies in the Top 25 rookie list. I would have to come up with a different method to rank the goalies. I obtained the data on February 13, so up to this week the data should be relatively up to date.

You can view the full google sheet of the rankings here. TPE Draft Rankings
Note - I did not account for position, so naturally most D men would suffer unless they put up high point totals.

Rankings (All Skaters)

1.  Monkey D. Luffy Lions
2.  Guy Zheng (D) Knights
3.  Karlstrabe Scholz (D) Knights
4.  Matt Kholin  raiders

11.  Michael Scarn Raptors
12.  Knute Knurtsson Raptors
13.  Kalevi Karhunen Armada
14.  Kalvins Zvejnieks Falcons
15.  Dick Clapper Knights
16.  Perry Morgan (D) raiders

22.  Barry Batsbak Knights
23.  Olivier Cloutier Armada
24.  Kristoffer Svensson Militia
25.  Liam Hutchinson Knights
26. Brock Emmerton Armada

The following list is the number of skaters that each team has on the list

Knights Knights - 6
Raptors Raptors - 3
Raiders raiders - 3
Falcons Falcons - 3
Armada Armada - 3
Lions Lions - 2
Scarecrows Scarecrows - 2
Militia Militia - 2
Whalers Whalers - 1
Outlaws Outlaws - 1

The biggest rank dropper was Perry Morgan from the Halifax Raiders. Morgan dropped 10 spots from a TPE rank of 6, to a draft rank of 16. This was mostly due to only scoring twice during the regular season. The rookie defensman did have his hand in 12 goals for the raiders brining him to a point total of 14. Whalers Borromini Cannellini also was a large dropper. The 7th overall draft pick for the Whalers dropped 8 ranks. He struggled during the season of only scoring 5 goals, and 13 assist. Whaler fans were no doubt disappointed, but many believe he can have a strong sophomore season, but that wont help him rise his draft stock.

The biggest rank riser was Matt Kholin, who jumped from TPE rank of 14 to a draft rank of 4. Kholin had a steller rookie campaign scoring 15 goals, and 17 assists. He was tied for the rookie scoring lead with Raino Kylionen. Kylionen was also a big riser, rising 9 ranks to draft rank 17. His TPE was the loswest on the list, but he was tied with Kholin for the rookie scoring league.

Two surprising ranks are Guy Zheng, and Karlstrabe Scholz. Zheng ranked 2, and Scholz ranked 3. It is surprising because they are both D man, but both had stellar rookie seasons. Zheng had 7 goals, and 24 assists for 31 points. Scholz also had 31 points with 9 goals, and 22 assists. Though Zheng only jumped 1 ranks from his TPE rank, Scholz jumped 5 spots from his TPE rank of 5. Both of these offensive D-men play for the Kelowna Knights. They ended up tied with with number 1 ranked Monkey.D.Luffy for the 3rd spot in the rookie scoring.

These rankings are just my own quick analysis based on a basic general method of ranking. I wanted to account for position, but I opted not to as I would have to consider more stats for the D men to produce a fair rank, and compiling the data was a bit time consuming. I could not figure a quick way to input the position

Nice article, Knights are stacked!

Speaking from experience, the black text isn't intentional but something that happens when pasting from google docs or whatever. If you're pasting from somewhere, make sure you click the View Source icon first (the little paper one all the way on the right) so that it doesn't carry through weird formatting. You can click it again to switch back to the normal editor after pasting in.
