Earlier this week, Charlotte native and third year Scarecrows star Eric Hudson and the team made their first visit to Carolina this season and Hudson put on a show for his hometown crowd. Notching two goals and an assist and garnering Second Star honors, the 7-4 St. Louis victory in Charlotte marked Hudson's second career 3 point night, both against Carolina.

The first goal came early in the second period as Hudson stole the puck from Adam Friedland and caught Eller by surprise.  This goal tied the game 3-3 after Carolina had jumped out to an early lead, but St. Louis came swarming back.

The assist came on the next goal as Hudson out worked Ambacas Cuddles on a dump in and won the puck for St. Louis. Firing the puck into the slot and finding Trey Nets who hammered it home. This goal gave St. Louis a 4-3 lead.

The second goal came late in the game with Carolina using an extra attacker. Hudson picked up the rebound from an Adam Friedland shot and carried it down the ice, passed it to Grapefruit Lizard who immediately passed it back to him and Hudson tucked the puck into the empty net to give St. Louis a 7-4 lead, which would end up being the final score.

Hudson had this to say in the locker room after the game.

"It's nice, of course, to have a good game in front of this crowd. There's just a certain energy coming here. I love Charlotte, this is still my home. I tried to give Grape that last one, but I guess he wanted me to have it. We've got a couple days off after this game, so I'll get to see my family before we head back to the Lou. Always nice to do that after a win."

When asked about the final goal, Grapefruit Lizard had this to say.

"I mean come on man.. it's his home town, his parents are in the building, you get a chance like that you gotta let him get it you know?"

The Scarecrows return to St. Louis for an eight game home stand, hoping to build on the momentum of this win. The Scarecrows are currently sitting at 6-7 and 3rd place in a tightly contested Eastern Conference.
