The Other Luffy (x2 Somehow I will Make this Draft Related).

Hello, reporting media who are asking me about the draft one last time before the season begins.
So I just found out there is another Luffy. Weird times man. Anyways, I just finished another great training Sess. Been working on my face-off game so I can step in on the Penalty Kill. One of the things I think made me a surprise draft pick choice late in the game was my versatility and resilience. Some look at me and see a blocky meathead who is going to go around and try and crush people. But I think I am starting to refine my game. When I was drafted by the Whalers, I was unfocused and my game (read: attributes) was scattered and weak. With their guidance and patience, I saw where my strengths and desires as a player lied (laid? Lay?). The North Stars drafted me because they saw the potential in my stumbling, baby deer way of learning. Also, I'm active and reliable...y mediocre. But What can I say? I am the first incarnation of this simulated consciousness. No one gets everything right the first time. I'm sure the other Luffy with a less original name that may or may not be based on a beloved franchise, had a few stumbles. <checks other Luffy's stats> *cries inside* Well that just ruined my day....what was I saying? Oh yes, well I don't know if there are draftees as low as me, the 66th overall pick in the SHL draft, who will have my success. And that's because I want to prove everyone them right in taking a chance on me. They could have picked someone with a little more upside, a little more creativity, a little better grasp of English Grammar, but they chose me, Luffy Richard. The new Luffy on the block. And one day, I will be king of the Penalty Kill with perhaps some sort of visual media that recounts my struggles from an upstart with a rag-tag group of players struggling to find their way to the playoffs, to KING of guys who kill penalties. I don't know if there is a market for that sort of thing, but I'm sure if the story arcs were well managed, and the diverse cast added a variety of flavors for the consumer's palate to explore, as well as adding emotional backstories for both the heroes and villains so that everyone is human, I think it could work. Who knows that. Who could tell? I have been excited about all the attention I've been getting, though it hurts a little that the attention is because no one believed I would be drafted, and I hope my predictions of defensive success matched with offensive potency--that is right my offense shall be virile--prove to be true. I know I have a lot more work to put in. But stick around, and I might just be the story of the year. |
