Rookie Of The Year Rankings
This list shows the top rookies around the SMJHL as of April 25th. 1. C Lev lebedev 6 G 7 A 13 P Van +8 The solo rookie points leader has been a pleasant surprise for Vancouver, maybe they have Jim Benning in their scouting team. Let’s hope he’s not creeping in managements closet.. 2. RW Bjorn Bjorn 8 G 5 A 13 P Car +8 The scorer of the dynamic rookie duo for Carolina, has a blistering shooting percentage of 33.3% on just 24 shots. 3. LW Roderic Banes 3 G 10 A 13 P Car +7 The playmaker for the Banes2Bjorn Connection (copyright pending) leads all rookies with 10 assists. Showing elite playmaking ability with a solid two way game he is a top contender for rookie of the year. 4. C Satoru Gojo 3 G 9 A 12 P Kel +10 Kelowna doesn’t need a rookie of this caliber scoring at this pace with the squad they already have, talk about unfair! A menace in the face off circle already at his young age, He also leads all rookies with a plus minus of +10, not surprising when you check the +/- leaderboards. Plus autocorrect changed his name to Saturn Goku, so there’s that. 5. RD Zak Wilson 2 G 8 A 10 P Det +4 The leading point producer on the blue line has excelled on defense for the falcons this far. Looks like he might be an anchor of their blue line for the near future. 6. RD Duncan the Walrus 4 G 5 A 9 P +1 Mai Hard to say if it’s more impressive for a gigantic walrus to adapt to its habitat of an ice rink, or laying the boom on fellow mammals while also scoring goals from the point. Regardless of the lack of thumbs, DTW has done an exceptional job throughout his rookie season thus far. 7.LW Latrell McDonald 7 G 2 A 9 P Anc +9 With only 17 games played, the fewest out of all rookies on this list, McDonald is scoring at a scorching hot rate with a 20 S% on just 35 shots. With the highest scoring percentage and receiving a good amount of ice time he may be one to watch going forward that might creep up the leaders list by the end of the season. 8. RW J J James Jameson 6 G 5 A 11 P +1 Mai The top pick of the 2nd round & second log of wood on this list has been impressive for the Timber thus far showing a well rounded game. 9. RD Josh Jennings 1 G 7 A 8 PAnc +4 Showing great play making ability Double J has done a fantastic job for the Anchorage thus far, also exhibiting a great two way game with a +4. 10. LW Gonzo Gobbldygook 2 G 5 A 7 P -1 Averaging the fewest ice time out of all rookies on this list, Gonzo has made the most out his limited opportunities. The 3rd overall draft pick has been an anchor on the 4th line and should be a star for the Raptors in the future. Word count: 532 @Graydonsanatomy GRADED! +5 TPE |
