(GRADED) Deep Dive #1 - Why Does Nevada Suck?
#1
(This post was last modified: 07-19-2021, 02:37 PM by leafs1997.)

All numbers for this were pulled from https://www.shltracker.dreamcraft.digital/all_players on 7/18/21 at around 1 pm eastern time. Apologies if some of them are a bit off, I think this site is up to date but I am not 100% positive. The Nevada Battleborn are, as many of you have seen, not good. But why are they not good? What is so different about them and the rest of the league? Well, to be frank, it comes down to straight TPE. Nevada is at the very bottom of the barrel of the SMJHL in every facet of TPE. First let’s take a look at Total TPE. The #1 team, Anchorage, is currently sitting at 11366 total TPE, which is quite a bit. Then the 3rd to worst team, Maine, is right at 6303. The 2nd to worst team, Kelowna, is just a smidge below Maine coming in at 6293 total TPE. Finally we get to Nevada who clocks in right at 5910. Thankfully, this barely gets us above HALF of the #1 team Anchorage, which, when you think about it, is VERY not good. Next I would like to run through the same spots and take a look at average TPE. This is the average amount of TPE that every member of the team has earned. Coming in at first is Newfoundland with a whopping 513 TPE. Then going in the same direction as last time, the third worst team is Maine yet again at 300, the second worst being Kelowna with 299, and finally, your favorite Ram based team Nevada dropping by at 281 average TPE. This may seem like an important stat, but the most important stat is the next and final one I am going to go over here, average EFFECTIVE TPE. I am going to take a shot and guess that this does not factor in any banked TPE that could not be applied because the player has met the TPE cap. That makes this the most important stat on the site because it does not take into account unused TPE like the aforementioned average TPE stat did. Yet again, Newfoundland tops this list with 244 TPE. We have a bit of a shake up at the bottom, with Quebec City and Detroit coming in third to last and second to last with 227 and 226 TPE. And finally we have good old Nevada with a staggering total of 222 TPE. What we can see from this is that Newfoundland;s average player is roughly 20 TPE better than our average player. Even the other bottom two teams have quite a lead of 4 and 5 TPE, which might not sound like much, but means that again, on average, every one of their players is better than every one of our players by 5 ish TPE. In conclusion, Nevada is bad because we are young and have not earned TPE yet. I am excited for the future here and can’t wait to bring home a trophy to the Las Vegas strip.
