Specters Induct One More Into the Haunted Hall Of Fame!
#1

Season 68 marks the 23rd season in the history of the New Orleans Specters. In over two decades of hockey, New Orleans has seen a multitude of exceptional players don the purple and black. For our 20th anniversary, we retired the numbers of the “Spooky Six”, members of the team that really put the franchise on their back during the early years. Those players included: Roman Augustus/TDZ, Aleister Cain, Oisin Fletcher, DeMaricus Smyth, Nicholas Williams, and Dick Physt.

And now, this season, we add another’s jersey number to the rafters.

Lyle Odelein III @Huck24

The true definition of what it means to be a New Orleans Specter, Odelein was drafted 8th overall by the Specters in the S48 Draft. Lyle stuck with the team during the good times and the bad, playing his entire career through S65 in NOLA. Lyle was the captain for a good chunk of his tenure as he racked up 944 career games. Even during the rebuild years, Lyle was a superstar, racking up 2,798 Shot Blocks and 1,961 Hits in his career, being the SHL Fantasy darling for quite a few seasons. He would do okay on the offensive side of the ice, raking in 124 goals and 308 assists for 432 points in his career. But Lyle was a very defensive minded player, so any contributions on that side of things was just a bonus.

As good as he was on the ice, Lyle (Huck) was/is one of the best people you can have in your locker room. Just always there with positive energy and there to talk whenever you needed him. I’ve made a lot of friends who are absolutely great people from this site, and Huck is one of the top people i’ve been lucky enough to draft in this league.

Congratulations to Lyle Odelein III on a well deserved honor into the Specters Haunted Hall of Fame!!

This is awesome. This means a whole lot to me and I can’t thank the Specters enough. New Orleans was my home for many, many seasons and I enjoyed every moment of it. Joe, thanks again for taking a chance on me, you are a great person and a good friend. So pumped Lyle’s jersey will get to hang next to these other beauties who helped me when I was first drafted, you all rock!

Go Specters go!!!
